you bought the blue color lumix case ah? mine was too tight to fit to close with lx-3. regretted buying. i using lowepro terraclime 30 now.

actuali which one is original leather casing??saw 2 versions on the thread..one with the round tingy and one is not...wondering if panasonic sells the casing:what:

Saw the brown leather case today over at Orient Photo, Sim Lim square #06-53. But I did not ask the price.
Thanks, I checked the price last week when I was there. Tot wanted to feel the material of the casing before deciding whether to buy or not.

I just bought LX3 from Malaysia - RM1520 with black lx3 + screen protector + Panasonic 4GB + lumix urgly casing.
I bought a UV filter -glass type (RM40) which stick on top of the lens (actually have some gaps)... I think this is pretty good protective layer of your lens.
I jsut got e-voucher today which is RM150. Now i'm think of what to buy from the online shop.
Can you guys give me some suggestion? below are my choices:
1. Len adaptor - RM109
2. Original LX3 battery - RM157
3. Panasonic 6GB memory stick - RM159

In the absence of the option to purchase the black Lumix leather case go for the original battery; you should fully utilise your voucher anyway, and an extra battery is always good for travelling.
Having said that, I don't think placing a UV filter directly on the lens is a good idea (especially if there are gaps). A good UV filter with multi-coating can result in minimal flares and ghosting already, needless to say a RM40 filter where light can enter from the gaps and cause internal reflection. If you think you will throw you camera around and need the protection, maybe the lens adaptor + filter is the way to go. That will render your current casing obsolete though, as you will need a larger case to store the camera with its even more protruding lens + adaptor + filter combo.
The LX3 can use most popular SD cards, can probably get a good 8GB Sandisk Ultra II for SGD30+. RM159 for 6GB? :bigeyes:

I am totally agree with you (Entity). Small gap between UV filter and lens will cause reflection. So far, I still have really go try outdoor shot, so stil haven't see any flares or ghosting. I hope not so bad... I main purpose to get this UV filter is to minimize dust, finger print, etc on the lens. Yes, lens adaptor + filter is a good option to minimize this. However, I don't want to keep my lx3 always look so bulky. Anyway, I'm planning to get lens adaptor + CPL + bigger bag or casing for another purpose - increasing contrast and reducing those light reflected by the dust and dirty which make your photo look 'blur'. I did get in Malaysia because market price there is much more expensive than Singapore. If not mistaken, I can get original lens adaptor + hoya CPL purple series in Singapore around $70 right?
