Where to buy LX3

guys, just wonder, did anyone of you had any bad experience with alan photo before?
i was suppose to collect the lx3 from peter today, but he's on leave today, so i got the camera from another guy.
the guy shows me all the free gifts mentioned and then return to the cashier there and pack my things.
to my surprise, i discovered that the case is not inside the shopping bag when i return.
truly an unhappy experience, as i strongly believe that the guy cheated me and took off my case when he was packing my things...

Is this the Funan one? I find that they are not exactly very honest, so you need to know your stuff before buying. If you show yourself to have done your research, they can't smoke you.

In your case, just go back down and demand the case you were promised. If you are assertive, they should be willing to back down and give you what they owe you. Don't take no for an answer.

that guy did show me all the free gifts (inclusive the camera case) at the counter. Later that the guy took my money and all the stuffs to the cashier behind to pack my things, that's when the case went missing. I didn't give it a second check when i got the bag with the camera inside as i never thought that would happen. I'll give them a call and see how it goes.

ok...what I did was that after they showed me all the free gifts,I asked them to pack them up and then paid them the $$. I also did a double check when they are printing the receipt.

Did the receipt state the camera case x 01 qty? Think you better quickly go down and collect it soon...

Got mine from Alan Photo at Sim Lim Square, Bryan like mentioned by some previous post is quite a nice guy. However i close the deal with another senior guy instead. He was quite professional as he showed me each and every free gifts before putting inside the bag and then hand over to me but yea his face black black and like want to faster close the deal and chase me out of the shop lol.

Dont really like the service at funan as well, tend to give the bo chup attitude

ya........undergrd is correct, go check your receipt with all things included, before you left the store, the boss asked you to double check and sign one.....

if the case is listed in receipt, but actually you didn't take it and signed, that is a little troublesome then

Just go down and complain asap. But do note that once, I went down to a shop in a huff, demanding something I bought but which was not put in the bag for me. It wasn't anything expensive (a $10 chapstick), but anyway, after kicking up a huge fuss, the shop gave me another one.

When I reached home and sat down at my table, I noticed I now had two chapsticks when I only bought one. Oops.

I'm not saying that you are one as you said you didn't check properly but there are some customers who will do anything to get a freebie... Sometimes I pity the salesman as there is not way of verify who's right or wrong.:dunno:

No worries. I was definitely wrong in my case, though it wasn't intentional. I genuinely believed the shop had deprived me of my product, knowingly or unknowingly. So I merely went to claim what I thought to be rightfully mine. As it transpired, I had made a mistake, and I would have remedied it if not for the fact that I would have had to return to the shop a third time in an hour and admittedly because I was naturally rather embarrassed by the incident given the fuss I had kicked up earlier.

But yes, I am not advocating demanding something you don't deserve. In this case, given my experience with this shop, I would give the poster the benefit of the doubt, because the shop did try to smoke me previously, which I was quite peeved at. Anyway, go claim the case if you are sure you were promised it and it's definitely not in the bag, but don't make the same mistake I did!

Pay extra $50 to 'upgrade' the free casing to DMW-CLX3.;p

At least we know there is this option to 'upsize' from the standard promotion.
FYI, the CLX3 casing is sold at $149 from MS Colour (no stock, must wait for shipment).

I am glad I held off buying the camera till now. Saw Dinosour post and I managed to get my LX-3 (new stock just arrived today) and the last piece of DMW-CLX3 casing from Bryan (AP) this evening. Top-up another $15 to upgrade to a Sandisk Ultra II card.
