This is really getting serious: Can't eat, can't sleep..... I keep telling myself: Just follow Nike (Just do it!). I even started making space in my dry box and pushing aside my exes. I don't think I can live past this week without having it.

Guys, any last advice ???? M7 black, 0.72 with summicron 35mm. I will used this babe for street/candit photography.

Hell....., this is an expensive hobby, I may have to eat Roti for the next 5 years!!!!!

Hi

do u wear glasses? do u forsee urself using any lenses wider than a 35, specifically the 28mm or 24mm? if so u might wanna try out the 0.58x viewfinder versions at the store, esp if u dun use a 50mm that much. u just might prefer it.

even though for me, with glasses on, it is still possible to use the 0.72x and still see the 28mm framelines, it is more relaxing to use the 0.58x viewfinder. you don't have to constantly strain to see to the edges. Shooting for long hours with a M and eyeglasses, the 0.58x provides more eye relief, to me. Also, the 0.58x viewfinder does not have those irritatingly useless 135mm framelines, so my 35mm view is clear and well delineated just by the brightlines ;P your mileage may vary!

lastly, do u really want a M7? a new M6TTL, esp one bought "grey" might be way cheaper. i'm not so sure of the current prices. u might wanna shop around a bit more. Prime camera also has a M6TLL (2k plus if i remember correctly) and a NIB M6 around 3k.

Buying new is good if u can afford it but sometimes second hand stuff can be great steals when acquired at the right moment :)

oh and lots of leicas for sale on the Photo.net leica forum. Better prices esp if u have friends in the us

I think that MP belongs to that "finished plate of Char-Kway-Teow' photographer.

huh? who's this guy? is there a thread here on his exploits i can catch up on? :P

watever it is, the MP was very new. no black laquer wearing off. probably hardly used. a good buy for whoever bought it!

All falling for that marketing gimmick eh? ;)

Unless the MP falls within the price range of a good ol' m6, I don't see myself getting one of those unless I'm so rich that I simply couldn't spend what I earn. It's just not that worth it to a user like me.

Oh well, not here to advise ppl on what leicas to buy. Like I said before, if you have the money ( financial stability is of course recommended..), do what you enjoy most, whether it's taking pictures or collecting.

Why bother so much about the body? I'd rather get lenses.
You could get a good m6 body and a wackin' good 28 f2 summicron AND in addition of a 50mm for that price of a black MP.

As for now, I'm currently happy with what I have, so there was my 40 cents.

Oh i forgot..maybe I'll advise a little.
Forget the m7 and take the m6...it's a more practical camera.

Besides, you don't want to end up like a friend of mine whom I went shooting with for a project and fried his electronics within a space of an hour. Gonna cost him a bomb to repair..and he swore he's going to get a full manual cam next time.

That way, you won't have to eat roti for the next 5 years and enjoy banging your purchase around.

And xxx_boy, please stop dragging your char kway teow friend in. It's his life.
Would you like it if people drag you in because they simply don't like the way you enjoy your hobby? Point made.

3 posts in 12 mins. U sure are bored. Pity about that MP. Had my eyes on it although that said there was one at TCW last year at 3.4k in brand new condition. Should not have hesitatted but i did.

hi

wisp.. how to get m6, summicron 28 and 50 for 3.7k?!? i want one set too! :P

I heard the new MP price from CP is $4700, is that true?
If it is true, it is way too expensive liao!!! :nono:
