Hi all just got into film so want to start with cheap BW ISO400 35mm film. Don't want to waste $$$ learning with kodak tri x

So anyone know where to get cheap cheap BW ISO400 35mm film don't mind buying in bulk.
Does not have to be like kodak or "branded film"

Hey bro, you can try lucky b&w.. But it's iso 100 tho not 400.. Cheap and good you can get it from chiif's website here

Yea saw liao but using for street work so prefer 400

You can always push it to ISO 400 during developing, ive done it before.

AFAIK..tri-x is the cheapest iso400 film available here. $4.50 per roll.

How cheap is your cheap?

Which shop $4.5?

I know bulk roll is $60 for 100Ft.

tri-x is also more forgiving to beginners if you are going to self develop. i've screwed up the developing procedures so many times in the past but they still turned out pretty ok, need to tweak in lightroom to fix the over/underexposure though. :embrass:

imho lucky 100 is more fussy but its cheaper and and has finer grain.

I believe that you can get either ilford Pan F 100 or 400 from Ruby at $4.00 per roll...not sure about the difficulty of developing them though...

Last time I bought Ilford Pan 400 it was $4 a roll at Ruby, but best to call and check current price.

I haven't had any problems developing it in HC-110 or ID-11.
