It works as intended so if you are looking for a tripod to hold up a P&S or even super zoom, the tripod is quite OK. It is not going to handle a dSLR so you need to make sure you have the right expectation.

The Velcro strap is useful to secure the tripod on a pole or a tree branch so it works a bit like goriallpod.
