hmm yeah i think u might be right there about the payment.. but i think maybe for weddings? cos pple usually put photography as priority over video. but in commercial projects, not necessarily right.

i mean, you can't engage a photographer to shoot your company's infomercial, for example..

I have to constantly convince clients that video and photo is two different things together. There's always clients that came saying that they have left $500 bucks of budgets after taking away a thousand for the photographer! :angry:

If by the work alone, I am sure that the videographer beats the photographer hands down. A videographer have heavier equipments, is constantly recording unlike the snap shot action of cameraman. The post-production is a killer, its ten times harder than the post of a photographer.

But the cost of photographer's work is higher. Sometimes the washing out of photos and albums already half to one third of their profits. The market for them is also insane! So many wannabe photographers around trying to break into the market that they even shoot for free! How to complete against that? That said, the photographer is more popular than videographer, people willing to pay 3k-5k for Compass Photographers but at most 2k for video........ you decide :dunno:
