I've been to TK, SLR revo, john3:16
all dont have.

I only saw at cathay.
only for F2.

I think i'm looking for a F2/J2 kinda bag but anyone can describe them to me whats the diff?

I also use waist pouches like the thinktank skin chimp, so i'm hoping that is possible to either velcro to the bag using the belt loop or whole thing stuff into the bag. Is it?

(considering buying the J2 off ortega =P)

If u keen to lear more of the domke bags spec, PM your email, I can send u domke catalogue.

You can get them from Cathay, but they bring in in batches. If you catch them when they just have stock arriving, you have a lot to choose from... and then it gets sold and less and less on the shelf. You can ask them when their next shipment is and check with them before going down.

Have you tried K13?
I can't find a k13 in the domke catalogs...

Looks like cathay is the only place. All right! lets hope they restock in the coming weeks!

I was just at Cathay Photo in Marina Square two days ago. I bought my F-3X from them and I am very sure I saw the F2 bag on display also. You should give them a call and enquire. They are really helpful. Hope you manage to find what you're looking for.

i saw the desert colored canvas F2 there too. but i would like to compare it with a J2 and a F7 and a F1 to see which one can suit my needs better.

K13 is a shop found at penisula level 2. It is a old good shop that used to sell alot of film camera and lens. But nowadays, they started changing into more of camera bags and tripod shop. I am not sure if there are Domke there, but except OP with some A&A strip and bag, you can find quite a few limited edition one at K13, so maybe there is something that meets your need.

Anyway we should try recommanding some good shops that are specialise in certain aspect like ruby for films or camera workshop for old equipment service rather than the common one. CP seems like the only landmark at penisula:bsmilie:, but I just don't feel comfortable shopping at CP though I been there quite a few time before to buy accesory:dunno: (it isn't bad but uncomfortable with the army of salesman behind the counter)

CP indeed has many sales, that's why they are usually more expensive as they have many mouths to feed:bsmilie: On the other hand, if u go into a shop with no sales to attend to you will also make u feel unwelcome:think:

I have transcended from many bags, and have finally found the F2 as my favourite bag, together with the J3.

The F Series are canvas based, while the J Series is the Ballastic Nylon version. The J Series' side pockets are slightly larger, and have a an additional clip lock, which I find distracting. The velcro's of the J's are larger, implying more force required to 'unlock' it. Both bags are large, I can squeeze 2 DSLRs (with grip & 4-5 lens), tons of other stuff like blower, wallet, spare cards, film etc.

The downside of a Domke is the strap, which is non-removable. So if you wish to slot in additional pockets, you need ones that have removable pads.

the shoulder strap has an excellent non-slip rubber sewn into the strap. Fantastic if you ask me. No other shoulder bag does this, but maybe the Billingham's do :)

Wah a wealth of information here! Why the F2 and not the F1? too big? (now f2s come in ballistic nylon too)

and it looks like the J1 is 2.5inches taller than the J2/F1/F2

You can also look at Thinktank Retrospective 10,20,30 if you are keen in canvas material bag. Retro20 can hold a body with 70-200mm mounted and it can also holds 2-4 lens and has few pockets. I have both Domke F2 and TT Retro20;)

im looking for a shooting bag, not really a canvas bag.
ease of access to equipment on the go surmounts all.
thats why i narrowed down to the Domke F1/2/7 and J1/2

Yup, I get your point, I guess it is up to individual. But there is a particular thing that makes me feel bad about that I think it's good to mention.

I have a friend who just started trying out film not long and he asked me for suggestion on B&W films. I suggested him to get Ilford Pan series from Ruby. If he wants, he can get the developing set from there as well. His reply as close as possible to what I can remember:

"Why? Cathay there should also sell the Ilford film what. Anyway where is Ruby? I go down penisula there never seem this Ruby shop before lea? Anyway, you can come down with me? Scard tio con by the shop for the developing set lea..." (The rest are more of the film specs etc etc.)

Cannot blame my friend as he is a starter. But what I mean is that if there are good specialise shops that wasn't mentioned, they will be lost with the new people that joins photography over time. I have seem shops like this which close down because they don't have the capabilty to compare with the newer shops. But inside this shop, there maybe rare gem like hard to find lens that stop production etc etc.

Ease of access to all your equipment should be sling bag (But overloading puts strain on shoulder which does more harm than good). Why not try out NG sling bag? Perhaps can type out a list of your common bring out equipment in a bag so we can better guage the recommanded bag.
