Hi. Anyone knows of any specialized shop selling cranes and jibs...?
Do let me know. Cause shipping cost from US to here cost a bomb!

For Cobras, Lau Trading and CameraStoreSg.

For Kessler, you can check out CathayPhoto.

You can also check out DV City >>> This is not local.

Maybe you could check out Vpost shipping rates. I have been using their services for 2 years, mainly for paintball and motorbike parts. So far, I am quite happy with the rates. Yet to try them for camera related purchases.

Thanks alot guys.. The downside is that sgCamstore only has the fotocrane ultra lite (CobraCrane).. Can only hold cameras less than 3lbs = 1.6+- kg..
Will try Cathay as mentioned by Danial. =)

RayTravis>>> Go for the Kessler Pocket Jib. Your damage will $932, I think. I have the fotocrane ultra lite. It does its job. The only setback is, when I hook up my 60D with Samyang 14mm, the crane arm will be tilted to the left making your shot not parrallel to the ground. I have to compensate by adjusting the level via my fluid head or tripod. When you go CathayPhoto look for Jimmy. He might be able to let you have a feel of the crane. I always buy from Jimmy. Nice Dude. Hope it helps.

Daniyal: The Kessler Pocket Jib is not $932. The KC-8 Basic is $932 but it doesn't have legs, just the jib.

The Pocket Jib is around $2k. But beware, you need at least 2-man team to use this cause the legs + jib are really heavy.

The reach of the pocket jib is rather poor also (5feet). Hopefully, they have a 8feet version and it be less portable but more usable.

Hi there,

When our video camera are up there on the jib, in order to activate the zoom function, we need a remote control.

Like the Sony VG-20, most remote cannot control the zooming because to zoom you need to rotate the ring ...

Any good video camera to recommend that have remote control that can control the zoom ?

Thanks

From what I know. Most proper cameras use stand alone lenses and the only way to control zoom is via a wireless follow focus ring.

Those are sometimes more expensive than the camera itself. Used one which cost $9k before and it still has a 1/2 sec lag.

I'm not sure about Lower end consumer camcorders.

Cheers

My bad about the Pocket Jib. Yupz, just the jib. No tripod.
