How's the 35/f1.7 like? I wanted to get a Bessa and pair with the 35/f1.4 at first because of the affordable price, but the lens turned out to be very dissapointing. I think my iPhone lens has less distortion...

35-1.7 is very sharp... Color rendition and OOF is very good too.... Distortion wise I would say it's minimal if there is any I can see... Very good value for money lens to get if Cron 35 ASPH is not within yr budget... Cheers

My first rangefinder was a Contax T2. Fell in love with in when it was launched. But frankly, I'll use any camera, both digital and film.

Cheers,

Was walking around at mandarin promenade when I saw the Leica store. With all the hype going about Leica, thought I tried it. Gave me the m9 to try. When the first time I tried, thought it was plain stupid to focus in that way. Laughed and walked out, thinking that RF was so silly. I mean it'll never worked on my kids, getting them to seat still. Anyway it was too costly for me too.

But as I keep thinking about it, the silliness and all that, I wanted to seek clarification, as in why will people explore that? Surfed the Internet and found Steve Huff and Eric Kim. As I'm an avid street photographer, I begin to explore more works.

Then during my honeymoon, bumped into a avid film fan. I told him about my curiosity on RF and he told me about the cheap Zorki and I thought why not?

Bought a Yashica GSN and a Zorki 4 a month later and never look back. I love my Zorki to bits and wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. The romantic film feeling and the quirkiness of my very sharp Zorki copy keeps me going through my tough times.

I was into photography kind of late. Got myself the first DSLR in 2009 (5D mark ii), it was fun, i was shooting a lot. However, one day I got into an accident, had to walk with crutches for around 1 year. I found my DSLR set-up way too bulky to carry around. Then one day I saw an M9, and think that it was a fine solution. Funny though I was kinda dumb and chose the 24 lux as my first lens. Later on, I got myself an M7 and it never parted me since. Right now I do not use the M9 as often as the M7, I like it more since it is a lot more simple, just shoot, no need to bother about editing my photos anymore.

Power! M9 + 24Lux as first lens.
I enjoy your photos, please keep posting.

Thanks bro. It was rather dumb. Did not even know that I needed an external viewfinder to go with it. Always got "extra" details. Haha.

My first encounter with a RF was when I was 15 yrs old, saw a teacher in school using an M3 with a exposure meter attached on the hotshoe. I told myself,...God, what an ugly camera with such a wired way to load film! I thought my Contax RTS then looked so much better.
Many years passed since and oddly the ugly image first encounter became me desire to get back into photography.

So my first RF was a M9 with 35mm lux.
Now I've sold my M9 and am eagerly waiting for the new M to arrive.
At the meantime, my M8 is employed.
