The period between December to now had prolly been a hard time for newer or 1st time KM users. For those who had got nothing but just the bare accessories that came with the camera, what is ur future roadmap?

u using KM? thought u are Canongrapher using canon? :embrass:

Dat's last year business. Since when did I state explicitly I'm using Canon?

sorry, Bcos your signature puts Canongrapher forever, I thought u are using canon mah :embrass:

I will use mine for as long as it serves me well. No point speculating. Of course if I have the cash then I would like to go for the 'pro' series.

Still like Canon stuff, though not a Canon user.

Kopitiam too boring for u now izzit? ;)

Seems like lately KM stuffs very hot. Just once the B&S threads up for a few mins, the hot items I wanted were sold.. :bsmilie: It's definitely not like that last time... :bsmilie:

Guess everyone's snapping stuff up before Sony marches in with new products and new pricing to boot. :bsmilie:

I think I'd better get a long lens nw.

well, my main concern will be that sony might just abandon the whole KM mount, and came out with its own lens mount.
(just like when minolta switch from MD to A-mount).

if that happens, there will be hard time for us to upgrade for any future digital SLRs.

if you hold a film 7, it can probably last you another 20years or plus, but hmm, might not be true for a digital one.

maybe sony will release a mount adapter if that happens?

some other party will make the mount in that case.

But there had been quite a lot of announcements about they will keep the "A" mount because of existing millions of lens users, I think they are afraid of too many people will abandon Minolta and jumpship, then they will lose a lot of existing customer, that's why they make that announcement publicly many time. It's not that easy to grab new customers with D/SLR system users, which unlike consumer P&S because of the lenses, especially with strong competitors like C and N.

SONY will still adopt the KM A-Mount, that's a fact.

How compatible will the old lens, especially third party lens on the new DSLR body, no one knows ? :dunno:

How come no option for giving up photography altogether.:(
Maybe still not too late to get back into the action and be photographed instead of taking photographs.
And no, I don't plan to sell my equipment.
May be get a better looking dry cabinet that can be used as a display cabinet?

The 70-300 I saw at TCW today looks good.... Hmm....

Oh BTW, 16mm fisheye anyone? Saw it at TCW, they put up the pricing... Abt $600 if my eyes din play tricks on me. ;)

If it's $600, it's really good price (if the condition is good), should have been gone by now.

Yesterday checked, still there. ;)

Its not where u'd usually see the Minolta cameras & lenses but in an unlikely location. Nearer to the Canon/Nikon section.

well, at least KM lens can continue to be used for Sony future SLRs. ;)
as for 3rd part lens compatibiliy, is there an option for rechipping?
i hope it does...

Some old OEM lens may no longer be supported and most likely will not be able to rechip. Now only times will tell. Hope SONY do the right thing and keep existing Minolta's users happy. :)

saw this in DPReview
New Tamron Lenses Marked Sony/Minolta

So Tamron release their lenses for Sony as well even before the transfer date. Since Sony have Share in Tamron, I don't think this would get wrong.

Guess this is another news to comfort Minolta user that the A-mount will be inherited by Sony ;)

Time to BBB :bsmilie:
