There is no standard market price for a 2H 1D, bcoz demand completely outstrips supply. i've yet to see a single 2H 1D locally. New is about $6.9k.

There are rumours that 1D will see a replacement next year; i believe that's when 2H 1D will start floating up.

You can try ebay or other state-based online stores like B&H or Adorama. They sometimes carry refurbished stuff at lower prices.

Yah that's what I thought so... I was thinking that the pros might want to upgrade to 1Ds from 1D so thought might have some in the market... thanks anyway!

1Ds and 1D is for different market segment. If you need speed, the choice is 1D.

I saw an ad posted yesterday on SingNet Classifieds for a Canon EOS 1D (it's not longer there today). The seller wanted $5000 for a 3-month body.

Somebody by the name of camera_woman2001 sold it for SGD2000.

Yahoo auctions:

http://page.auctions.shopping.yahoo.com/sg/auction/81618284

It is closed now, but whether this is a fraud thing or not remains to be seen. You may want to track the bidders and sellers rating too see if the deal actually turn out well.

Hey I was watching this sale too... when I wanted to go back and click on the $2000 Buy Now option, someone got it sooner than me... now I'm waiting to see if it's a fraud...

actually quite easy to safeguard against this particular sale(if it is fraud)
even though the seller says to transfer money to his(her?) acct first then send u the camera, if i was the buyer, i will tell the seller that i will personally go to his office/home and make the transaction there
i'm sure the tens of dollars for cab fare is very minor compared to the price of the camera. if the seller don't agree to that, well, u can be sure it's a fraud. i mean, the seller has nothing to lose. i'm using my own time and money to travel to his place to close the deal

Yep that's a good way to prevent fraud... although I thought such fraud are more often based overseas than in Singapore... sad that people are using others' interest to do such things...
