And don't forget... many cameras that last long uses lithium batteries that cost $60 or more a pop... A set of 4 batteries cost er... 12 dollars if you know where to look? WIth $60, I can certain buy enough NiMh to out last any lithium batteirs....

man, you've just brought me into perspective... all u've said is never reported in the online reviews !!!

its on the top of my list again.. waiting till when i have the money...

Hee... But the first few runs with new batts got me worried... but after allowing the batts some muscle flexing all's great... and Hey, Dpreview said 1 set of well charged GP1600 is good for for over an hour of shooting~ Over a hundred shots~ But well, It does seems not to be able to last as long as some other cameras that uses AAs, such as the Casio QV-4000... But I feel It No problem. Just make sure you get a good charger and keep the batteries in top form.

roger ! you using Ni-MH as shown on the Dimage website ? I actually thinking of getting this camera to go shooting during a 2-week trip i'm planning to the US at the end of the year.. what issues should i know when i bring a camera for sightseeing ?

quick scary if i'm to bring my batts along if i spent 12 hours as a tourist, that means i must bring at least 10 sets of rechargeable batts ? very heavy for a first time investment !

Yup, I'm Using GP's 1600mAh and 1800 Mah NimH recharables. People here says sanyo is good... Rayovac is suppose to be good as well.... I'll go try them out...

Adivce... Don't keep your camera on all the time! Switch it off when you don't need it! Most likely 2 sets will get you through one day. Or if you shoot a lot, 3-4 sets... Even SLT's lithium batts can't last with it on throughout the day! and don't forget about memory~ You are as likely to run out of memory as power.

Remember, you need a good charger as well... maybe one of those 1 hour chargers so that you can charge up the batts you spent in the day...

ok thanks ! how much roughly is the price for Compact flash 128mb each ? whats the diff between I and II ?
