I'll get a second hand 28-70 f2.8L as my full frame walk roud lens.
Despite the weight this lens is sharp and contrasty and most of all match the 5D body.

Not sure I could get one second-hand within my budget of $1,000 :cry:

17-40 F4L
70-200 F4L
24-105 F2L
100 mm F2.8 Macro (If you are into Macro)

With these in your bags, there you go to leverage the best of your 5D...
