And it is very true indeed that the scenery along the east coast from Rompin to Kuantan is very beautiful.

r u referring to scenery of the coast or the inland scenery?
u mean traveling on the new trunk road or minor coast-hugging roads?

when u drove at tasik chini, were you able to go around the many scenic spots by car or u had to disembark and use a boat?

First, the beautiful scenery refers to the coastal area from Pekan (city near Kuantan) to Rompin. After that the area would be the hilly type. But overall, the scenery along the road is beautiful. Somemore you dun have to pay for the costly highway charges.

Second, If you reach the Lake Chini area, you need to travel by boat to see all the 12 banks. It will take you around 2 hours. Morning and afternoon scenery is magnificent.

I gather, from the lack of response, that nobody dares to let a monkey drive their car. :p

Hmmm....sounds interesting.

Wanted to make a trip to Kuantan and Endau earlier this year with "kanekoichi", but ended up in Malacca due to the monsoon season.

If you're looking for company to make the trip to Kuantan, do let me know when do you intend to schedule the trip. Might be keen in making the trip as well since I missed out the last time round.

Besera area further up from Kuantan towards Cherating is nice as its a fishing village that processes salted fish and dried anchovies.

PM me is you don't mind me tagging along.:D

Please come down for an interview first :p
My requirement for a travelling companion is rather stringent ...

Show me your portfolio for a start ... ;)

well, I am looking for another 2 or 3 (girls would be an advantage :)) if we travel by car. If not and travel by coach, I welcome at most 6 persons.

I have planned to schedule the trip for the coming Good Friday (18th April) till Sunday. Will depart on Thursday evening...

However, I do also have the intention to take one day leave on Monday to optimise the trip. That will mean we travel on Thursday evening/night and come back on Monday evening/night ( 4 quality days ). :gbounce:

I am interested.. Should be able to make it.

So, confirm the date?

Are we going to just 1 place? Nagara?

me interested too, if my work schedule allows... :D

Welcome you both, please put your name down the list ONLY if you can really make it and don't pull out last minute on me :) Though I won't get to lose anything but emotionally I can be very distraught!!! :D

All other members are also welcome to join but "first come first go" basis only as it will be a small group photography trip of 6 (by coach) or group of 4 (if any name in the first 4 of the below list volunteer a car).

The trip would be from Thursday night (Friday is Good Friday) to Monday evening. So, we have to take a day leave on Monday.

Confirmed going:
