Looking for high end DIGITAL camera.
I believe this is the best?? or any digital is better?

I would like to know how much is this camera and full package much. In Sing Dollars.S$
thank

Mamiya 645AFD is not a high end digital camera, it's a medium format film camera capable of using both film and digital backs.

A new one should cost ard S$4400++ for a kit (cam+lense+film back), or ard S$2995 for body only. You can go to Cathay Photo at the Peninisula Plaza to take a look, they have the a set and the whole price list there.

As for best or not, I don't know. :)

you mean S$4400++ for a kit (cam+lense+film back)
what about (cam+lense+digital back)?

And some more little stuff thrown in, this one you got to check with CP.

 if u really need to know, the digital back alone should be at least S$15,000.00 and above.

WOW. out of my barget.. 15k.. hahaha.. win already.

some digital backs from leaf cost ard 40-50k range..22mp model..
if u are a hobbyist,no need to spend those type of $$ la,unless u got a real deep pocket..

'Better' is subjective. While a medium format may win in terms of larger sensor size (BTW, the $15k - $50k ones discussed here - i don't think they are full frame MF), you lose out to 35mm format in a few ways:

- Larger physical size and weight, less suitability for many types of photography - in fact, it's only better for landscape and some studio work.

- Range of lenses and accessories. 35mm gives you a huge a variety of lenses from 8mm to 1700mm, along with fisheyes, macros, perspective control lenses, telescope mounts, underwater casings, etc. Next to imposible to find to those MF stuff.

If you really want the 'best', at present, i'd say a 1Ds ($12.5k) or 1D/D2H fits the bill better.

if u currently have lot of Nikon lenses, u can get the Horseman Digiflex II,It uses a digital back and 35mm Nikon lenses.U can get a fully frame, not 1.5 factor. It is extremly useful when its comes to wide angle shot.Only thing is that it is manual focus. The cost is abt $6000(camera alone),+ digital back($8-50k)

phase one / mega vision / kodak / or leaf ?

anyone have any idea . leaf is distirubuted by Cp at $19,000 how abt the rest ?
