What strap do you use for your LX3

Yes, it's quite like the Y strap, which I use on my Olympus DSLR. It's very comfortable but the excess strap (after adjustment) is super long if you aren't a tall person. Good thing with the Gordy straps is that you can specify the length, though comfort factor is something to consider carefully.

Agreed - if you're going to pimp out your LX3, it'll look far better with a neck or sling strap. ;)

The neck SLING looks like an adapted version of that famous "R-strap" slide-up-&-down-contraption right?

Was tinking of the wrist strap originally, but tink it'll look funny if I tried to sling my LX3 from my wrist with its adapter tube & wat-nots attached...on the other hand, the neck strap is rather expensive...ard SGD$60...& I'm unsure if the neck pad(an additional USD$13) is as good as neoprene...

Every compact camera I've had (starting from the IXUS V2) I've never put on a strap. I still have yet to drop a camera.

Customised Hand Strap

I have taken the original neck strap, cut it to a desired length
and sewn the ends of the shortened strap with the string.

Here's another, wrist strap by Optech, material is just like the other bigger straps they make.

Does lx3 with lc1 cap fit nicely in the original leather case for lx3??

You are supposed to loop the loose ends of the strap to the clip. It will be an extremely snug fit. But my personal experience is that you can relieve more headaches with a hand strap.

During my recent trip, the lumix case and neck strap proved to be extremely inconvenient. Coupled with the fact that I do not have the Ricoh lens cap mod, it's starting to become really frustrating.

On the 2nd day, I purchased a nice elastic handphone strap (thick kind with design) and a cheap sling pouch. (Not more than $10 for both) Everything became so much easier.

I see an old Prada HP strap for mine. Looks really good. Silver and Black. :)

So anyone has any idea where to buy a nice hand strap?

what you didn't follow the entire thread? there were so many suggestions - leica, optech, gordy... pick whichever that you like. only gordy u have to order from the US. the rest can be found in SG shops.

brought a $2 neck strap from Daiso, with some parts from some free seminar lanyard.
DIY & voila

double loop thread, rounded latch clip, double looped sponge filled braid, inserted into intermediate clip. Which can be use to clip poles & etc.

Damage = still $2
weight limit = over 3~5kg

This kind of clip doesnt make me feel very safe and secure.
just my personal worry.

Hi fellows. Anybody know where I can get this kind of camera strap that I can sling (sideways across the body)?:

the version above (by gordy) is way too expensive, i.e. SGD$70; hence I'm looking for cheaper alternatives. Perhaps not attached to the same points as per the gordy, but at least can sling. Any recommendations, i.e. brand/model/price?

Got it from Orient Photo on the 6th floor.

I tried getting one there today but they claimed they don't have it... Anyone knows where else i can get this? buying online is very expensive due to the shipping cost. Thanks.

Schmidt Marketing at Bukit Merah. Shorter strap is $30 and a longer one is $50, comes in black and brown.
