What stks to buy?

After reading the news of Citiraya, Informatics, CAO, ACCS, I dont have much belief in SGX or any Singapore listed stocks, except the 3 local banks.

so how about china listed stocks?
i think theres about 100+ of them ..

I'm more inclined to look towards long term growth than short term speculation. 6 weeks isn't much time at all. Probably what others have said can look towards buying t-bills on the secondary market or putting in unfixed deposits which would yield 2%+ annualised return.

Speculation purposes, can look toward Unifiber maybe. Very hotly traded, especially since one of their big share holders is JP Morgan now.

More medium-long term investments I'd say all the companies which Temasek has holdings in, heh heh. More or less sure score in long run. IMHO, ST Engine worth looking at, along with SMRT, for safe bets, as these are non-cyclical in nature. Not a fan of biotech or tech stocks at all. Also recommended are REITS for medium-long term.

I am keen on BeautyChina and BioTreat and monitoring them. I will get Biotreat if it falls to <1.00.

since ur keen .. u think they might/will do well right?

so why wait ?
is not about buying low and sell high .. u can buy high and sell higher ..

For me .. I still yet to buy any shares ..
still learning the skills and knowledge..

Osim / gent int is good buy to me ..

temasek's injection is in exchange for a small stake. about 5%, if i am not wrong. not significant.

why is genting int'l a good buy to you? did you apply for their ipo?

Genting is bidding for the new casino project in Singapore, I think they will get it, for some reason. Casino stock is actually quite a good stock, casinos (most) always make money, similar to banks always make money.

Beauty China is one of those I am eyeing as well, in addition to things like Pine Agritech and STX Pan Ocean. Of course, these are China stocks, and I have been warned that their financial results and statements haven't been subjected to an audit, so the figures could be false.

I am willing to take the risk though.

I did apply for the IPO. Till now I don even have a broker .. cool rite ?
hahaa
Am prepare to hold till the results are out. I had read that Las Vegas had op out from the bid cos they say too much restrictions on the casino. So genting might stand a good chance

I did search on some articles and read on the comments and recomandations on genting ipo.
I think is worth to buy a few .. don expect dividend payout.

Right now the demand for the stocks is real high .. it might just push the price higher
casino will make $ as a saying goes .. 9/10 lose at a casino. they more they lose .. the better the shareholders are right?

just my pt of view .. buy at own risk ..

yah, real 'cool' of you to buy when you have not yet set up the mechanism to sell, if need be. super cool, man!

True la Cash is always good and I believe it is prudent to set aside at least 6x montly household expenditure in cash(or something liquid). Other than that, to hold on to cash does not hedge against inflation. $1 you hold will be <$1 in 10-20years.

with current fd interest rates more than 2.5% p.a., it is decent return, with no attendant risk.

Not true anymore!
A DSLR costed $10k in 2000, but only costed $3k in 2005.
A 40 inch plasma TV costed $12k in 2000, but only costed $4k in 2005.
I actually same a lot of money by buying the gadgets later rather than earlier.
