what rf do you recommend for me? super low budget

Hi All,

just wanna update that I just purchased the Zorki 4 and Yashica GSN AT THE SAME TIME !!!!!!!!.. yes yes, I'm mad, but i figured for S$250 (+ Shipping) for 2 cameras (from ebay and hopefully in good condition), i might be able to try both the manual and flexibility in lens for the Zorki, vs the bigger fix lens and AV of the Yashica.

Who knows, I might be bitten by a spider and date the gorgeous Emma Stone. hee hee..

thats pretty fast. actually u can head down to peninsula shopping centre instead of getting from ebay, a place for RF lovers. from leica to compact RF.

some items are overpriced.

Not only that... Some items might not be working well. I once bought a camera on Ebay. Came with very bad light seal and winding mechanism is cranky. Totally opposite with what the seller describes. I went through the Resolution Centre at Paypal and the seller denied everything. Never am I going to buy cameras from Ebay again!

ebay is like trying luck... i got good and bad deals.

Well.. I try to avoid US sellers if I can. Most of them got their stuffs from estate sale, they don't even bother to check it first before selling. They are really used to 'return policy', so if buyers refuse to return the item back, seller will simply assume buyers want to deceive him/her.

Do we need to pay GST for items above $400SGD?

weirdly enough... i think the ebay seller quite nice, think he never put the price of the lens or under-declared when he sent me cos when I check with singpost (first attempt delivery I am not in), I asked if there is any outstanding fees I need to pay, they say no. So I assume I am not paying GST in this case.

but yah, any purchase above $400, GST is required before they release parcel to you.

Maybe we should start a new thread just for Russian RF. I haven't personally used them before but they look very nice for sure

yes, they looks good.

while considering various 50mm f1.5 ... jupiter 3 is on my list but i read that its hard to find a good condition... mostly have haze or oily blades problem. so i gave up my search on ebay since after looking at those photo conditions.. non impresses me.

Meaning the seller under-declared to save on insurance on his part? Let me guess, using usps priority? :p

he posted using USPS international express mail haha.

but i dun really like USPS... prefer to use UPS, Fedex etc.

Mostly yes, though sometimes if you're luckly you may just find something that is underpriced!

yup! i dun know about the market rate for this lens i bought but i feel if the condition is LN (like new). i think its very reasonable and bargain price!

i was so fortunate to own one very usable 50/1.5 L39-mount.

The worst rip-off i ever get is from Paypal demanding that i sent the camera i claimed to be faulty to a proper/authorized service center locally to certified that the camera is faulty. I asked around for certification around Bencoolen & Adelphi, all quote me price thats higher than the item cost, so in the end Paypal don't refund me and i ended up with a junk camera. So don't always believe Paypal/e(vil)Bay are fair.

yeah i had bad experience losing money too.

blame myself for being greedy, got duped into buy a counterfiet battery grip for my 5DMK2 sometime back... and Ebay/Paypal wants me to show proof of postage to send back the counterfiet BG back to the seller before they process a refund for me... in the end i did and got back my refund minus the postage fee I spent. So end up wasting $20-30+ postage.

Hahah. Poisonnnnnn.

But nahhh. I cannot give up my 5dm3 for any RF as i shoot landscapes wwith long exposures.

The BESSA is too costly for me. I much rather purchase a cheaper RF to 'playplay' before I dive into a leica. Hehe.

Pl note used Leica is more ex than it appears. Old resale Leica tend to have have hidden cost of CLA. Coz some leicas are very old. The need for CLA may not be evident at time of purchase.

Bessa u can buy brand new with warranty.
