yesterday, i put a tokina 150-500 f5.6 MF nikon mount lens adapted to my e-p1......haha so many ppl all looking.

the Image Stabilization....cant help here. The main reason why I prefer lens IS coz it's matched to the focal length and will be more effective.
I tried the canon eos 100-400IS ...amazing IS. But the tokina on my e-p1 .....like got no IS...haha....everything shaking...image...my hands....so heavy & big......have to be tripod mounted....not monopod!

Received an E-Quote from MS colour for the Pen 2

17mm Pancake lens kit: $1550
14-42mm lens kit: $1550

Comes with 8GB card + (Digital kit: Bag, Mini Tripod, Cleaning Kit + LCD protector)

FL14 flash purchase with purchase at $99.

First shipment all sold out. Need to book for second shipment.

I find that none of the freebies useful to me. I have so many 8GB cards at home. Toshiba & Kingston. Digital kit, absolutely useless to me. LCD protector, not needed as i'm in this business line, and i can get it anytime.

Wonder if can get a better price. Don't really like MS colour also. Previously when there to buy a manfrotto tripod worth $300 and they couldn't care less to even ask what i want. I went up to ask, and the guy just lit his cigarette and smoke into my face.:thumbsd:

I received very good service from both Florence and Jackson, but not the fat guy who showed the heck-care attitude.

Unfortunately the fat guy attended to me. I went into the shop, and the lady there looked at me, and i look back at her. And she too didn't bother much. Quite saddened about their approach, that i could not even ask anyone, i went to AMK Hub to try instead. In the end, i go inside there, really "best" service. 2 Ah bengs, 1 happily watching TV, the other attending to customer. So i waited, then another man came into the shop, the Ah beng immediately stopped watching TV. The man asked me if i needed anything politely. I told him my experience over the other store and how the people treat a customer. He apologized and he called up the other side and enquired what had happened. He was the boss of MS colour. For both shops i believe. He didn't have much manfrotto tripods in display over at AMK hub, so he asked if i would like to go back to the other store to take a look. He even gave me a name to look for.

Went back, i went to find the person. This time another lady. Quite friendly, she said she doesn't deal with manfrotto or benro tripods, but rather gitzo. That's when she refered me to that guy. He just couldn't be bothered. Lit his cigarette and smoke direct into my face, like i owe him something. I just walked away.

Maybe Singaporean camera shops think they are just too great. Bunch of losers.

Even cathay photo asks what you want. Though not polite, but at least they ASK!

I don't even treat my own customers like this. Quite a sad thing.

Personally speaking. Generally, over Singapore the bad attitude of salesmen is usually seen by many shops/retails (due to their low-moral educated). That's a very bad impression for Singapore (even my oversea friends also said).:(

Keep in mind that we are their customer, we do deserve a happy shopping instead of being some kind of insult.

At least didn't get scolding :bsmilie:
I scared to shop in HK :embrass:

Last friday evening walked into CP at PP & came out with shiny Oly. No mad rush, no reservation...

My opinion after using GF1 (1mth+) & E-P2 (2days)

GF1 (+)
- slightly faster & more precise AF even under low light (won't fight DSLR, but good enough for children)
- higher res & 60fps LCD
- dedicated movie record button (no more turning mode dial back & forth)
- wind cut filter in movie (ur movie will sound cleaner)
- custom C1, C2 modes for ur favorite settings
- flash for fill-in & casual low light snapshots
- better GUI
- lens mount is a bit more center, looks balance (subjective)
- can press scroll wheel once to enlarge when in MF
- the grip is more comfortable, especially with heavier lenses

E-P2 (+)
- very bright & hi-res 60fps EVF (can get more perfect focus than on LVF1 when using MF)
- accurate white balance & better colour out of camera JPEG
- IBIS for any lenses (helps in dire situation)
- Art Filters (fun & less PP work)
- stereo movie
- body feels very solid altho slightly heavier
- modern classic design (subjective)
- every lines & curves is made with perfection (subjective)
- the glowing green ring is intoxicating

Somehow it feels like the E-P1/P2 has soul. GF1, OTOH, is like a lifeless drone.

This is my early personal observation, YMMV. but u can't go wrong with either one, they're both capable cameras.

LOL!!! Lifeless drone...you do mean although heavier instead of altho heftier right?

welcome, either way, thanks for that review,I believe that might help people choose between the GF1 and the E-P2

Well, GUI is also subjective :), because overall I prefer Olympus one (except magnify mode of manual focus lenses), especially the view where one can see almost all the controls in one screen. Very cool, fast choosing.

I agree with you,of the cameras I've used,Olympus was the faster to get used to for me

Wah nice pics of the gf1 & ep2!

What strap are you using on them? Looks good!

After reading the posts here, I can't help but feel this is just another thread started to promote Oly or bash it's competitor Pana. Behind all the arguments backed by "I'm pro so listen to me"... all these bashing has no merits. Wld a pro really use an EP1 to shoot for client assignments? If Oly users can workaround EP1's limitations, so can Pana's users with their GF1. Color not good enuff for you? Jus shoot raw. When someone says that he chooses GF1 bcos of it's high res screen, there's bound to be defenses here to argu tats it's useless to them, strangely. So does that mean EP1's better jpeg color is useless too jus bcos i shoot raw?? I think the shrew reader will soon realise there's alot of hidden marketing agenda behind all these threads. I risked my account getting banned here but I dun care cos if I get banned for my honesty then so be it. I RSIP here today.
