What made you buy an Alpha over the other brands? (tua-pau, nikon, etc)

iso, shutter and "handshake" is yes, different:

ya maybe my hand is super shaky hand, i pressed my shutter 3 times, and the one that i uploaded is my best shoot lol.
however, we both just use auto setting from our camera, iso auto, shutter speed auto, awb auto. Why my camera set for me to give me result with this quality :(

sorry for my bad grammar.

what did i do wrong? or is the a350 is better than 500d?

*doesn't mean to offense alpha user, i also an alpha user that need to be enlighten

1) From first look, I can see that you have definitely a pair of shaky hands although you may not noticed it. This is a major factor for such blur images.

2) Which focus mode did you use? Where did you place your focus on?

3) Post other type of images you capture. From there, we could further analyze the faults.

4) Different systems have their own tweaks. What your friend did on a canon does necessarily not apply when done the same to a sony.

Point 1 is definitely the major cause for it.

I think:

Could you have accidentally reduced the exposure compensation? Do check your exif for that. Because the picture seems quite dark though your shutter and aperture and iso is almost the same. A dark picture can really look quite different from a well lit one.

Very bad handshake, gotta improve your techniques. :)

Thx takane, a whale, eow, sohzai for your input. i've posted the exif details, here: http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a131/groovinZhou/exif-.jpg

both exposure metering was 0 , mine: speed faster, iso higher, super steady on. result still lost lol. problem with my hand haha,

focus was on centre, or the girl on the centre abit left. focus using spot focus, metering using the.. umm alot of point that one. and dro is on.

anyway to not make this OOT longer, i'll just do somemore test for it, thx for the help :)

Looks like you moved your hand after focusing which results in the shot getting OOF.
