You got two ?! Isin that on the edge of infatuation already:bsmilie: One for each of your camera bodies ?

Ryan

haha yeap.

one for each of my bodies, cos i just cant take the range of the 18-55.. i am spoilt by the 18-135. and also the D60 is with my other half now, so i can hardly get to see my original 18-135.. got myself another one instead.

its actually rather impressive, the picture IQ that can be achieved with it.. though the 24-70 will definitely make me look more impressive.. haha

you gonna upgrade tp 18-105VR/18-200VR soon?

Nikon 18-70mm
Nikon 50mm/1.8
Nikon 17-55mm/2.8

+ MB-D80 = SOLID!

I'm using

1. Kit-Lens 18-105
2. 17-55mm f2.8
3. 70-200 f2.8
4. 10.5mm fisheye

haha bro.... trying to poison me ah!

noppeee. dun think i will get the 18-105.. I am using VR lens with the VR off (they can be such nuisances sometimes) so I am not too big on VR. and 105 is 30mm too short for me. so no pull there.. and if i were to get the 18-200, i think i will spend more time worrying if it will break down then taking pictures with it..

I am still looking for a 18-1** f/2.8 constant lens.. if i can find one, think i am sure to get it.. that would be my perfect walkabout lens. :bsmilie::bsmilie::bsmilie:

haha at least to me la.

some pple are contented with 18-55 as walkabout. some pple are not satisfied even with 18-200 as a walkabout.

perfect is subjective i guess. :bsmilie:

see so many users here with different lens, really confused this newbie here...

but i quite confident that i might just get the D90 body with any of these shorlisted len:

Tamron 28-75mm f2.8
Nikon 35mm f2
Nikon 18 - 70mm
Nikon 50mm 1.8f

Can you advise if these lens is decent enough for general usage?

but a 18-1xx f2.8 as a perfect walkabout? i think its a tank if it were to make it to market

i think it would be a tank too, i think it might just be a tat bigger then the 24-70 right now. its already a light tank.. haha. maybe the 18-1xx will be a medium tank???

i dun really mind the weight, cos to me, a walkabout lens allows me to cover my highly used ranges in 1 lens so i can avoid changing lens outside, and gives me nice aperture size to go along with it.. i dunno if the frequent changes of lens outside is resulting in my rapidly dirty CCD.. hmmm.

general as in using 1 len for multi purpose shooting for the time being. Do not want to invest in several lens at once, consider i am new to DSLR.

Hi

Nikkor 16-85mm (Shoot raw and pixel peep to see the power!)
Nikkor 55-200mm VR (A MUST HAVE. Produce better portrait at 85mm than 16-85mm. Weird....

Next Purchases in order.

Cokin Filters
Carbon Tripod
85F1.8 or Tokina 11-16F2.8 (when recession over haha)

if want multi purpose, shd try out 18-200 or tamron 18-270

50mm 1.8 nikon
tamron 18 - 270 vr

for me:
18-70dx
50/1.8
tamron 90/2.8

This is my budget setup:

18-105mm VR
12-24mm Tokina
70-300mm G (Very bad CA)
50mm f1.4
SB600

Maybe will add tamron 90mm Macro in the future

Using a Sigma 17-70 F2.8-4.5 Macro (1:2.3) and Nikkor 70-300mm VR
