What is your setting for long exposure land/city/nightscape

Actually all bridges are equally bad, as the concete beams are resting on dampers. The vibrations are generated by vehicles crossing from one section of the beam to the next. Just get on to Sears Bridge and you can feel it for yourself. Small vibrations for small cars, MEGA vibrations for big trucks. :)
Not just on the bridges. Several times I noticed that the ground on supposedly stable and solid areas also vibrates when buses or trucks pass by. Could be due to some underground structures (cable ducts, manholes) or the foundations of buildings (can be much wider than the actual building). It helps to stand still and feel the ground for a while, before setting up the tripod.

Thanks.. I have started reading hyperfocal dist too.. Hopefully someone can teach us actual.. I will try f/9 and f/11. By the way, i use jpeg because i dont know yet how to do photoshop but learning a bit.. I shoot jpeg then just put my watermark only..thanks a lot..
You could start in daylight first. Shooting at night adds to the complexity. During daylight you can use Av mode, let the camera do the rest for exposure, focus on focusing first to get sharp images. Then look at exposure and metering modes (metering at night is another topic). Use Av or M and try the different metering modes. Then go and try out at night. As long as you don't understand what the camera is actually doing it does not much sense to tinker around at night till something useful comes out. You would not know why and how to replicate it for a different situation. Unless you prefer trial and error till you have cornered useful settings :)

it's private. we can't see the images. no need to start another thread to ask "how to upload photos". just do a search using the function at the top of the window.

and this isn't the gallery and critique section. you should post your images in the other sections to get the proper attention

please see attached photos and tell me what you think of them feel free to criticize for i am willing to learn.. thanks
1) Check the thread about embedding pictures from flickr and set the permissions for your images. There are galleries for publishing your images for critics.
2) Tell us what you personally think about these images, first. Give us your point of view including what you tried to achieve, what worked well, what did not. You are taking pictures because you want to capture this moment / situation, not to please us, right?
