What is your favourite photography magazine?

What happen to Digital Photographer? its one of the best out there and its not in the poll.

not really. they slant more towards nikon. even tutorials also use nikon.

could be product placement sold to nikon.

William used to team up with another brit before he became chief editor... now THAT was better...

Williams very well-rounded... haven't read his stuff recently so not sure...

another i used to get alot of help from was Photo Answers... really for newbies... but soooo.... helpful... very encouraging mag.... i dug up some old copies and was glancing through...

Photo Answers has very few ads and is not slanted towards any advertiser/brand...

just noticed that they have a webby too... haven't checked it out though...

another source of inspiration is National Geographic and some old periodicals... almost no ads in those...!

he is a very good editor with a tremendous amount of knowledge.

Guys... Check out Digital Photo, Aug 2008 edition. Think they have adopted a new look, and the contents are pretty good, especially for a newbie like me. In the Aug edition, it also comes with a basic Adobe Photoshop disc that covers curves and darkroom techniques.

I like Practical Photography too.. Basically the UK magazines..

I would not subscribe to any of them. Prefer to buy at news stand depending on feature and topics; and very often you find them repeating themselves. I find books have better in depth discussion, though I also think mags can give good, "quick and dirty" useful tips for people on the go.

seems like most of the Brit mags are usually better (even for other interests ... cycling, food, home living, triathlon)
There's just more emphasis on 'hobby talk', be it going to the countryside for photography, cycling, food, etc.... relevant to the hobby/interest.

I choose Maxim as it give many benefits.....shows a lot of portraits and landcapes usually with attractive models in them.

I bought and read Practical Photography and Digital SLR User and find them good but after i bought Digital Camera (World) its a better mag for me

Yeah! Digital Camera is great! Best of both worlds, contents from the parent UK mag in Malaysia ringgit.

Content is so much better than the cr*p SPH puts out with POOtoVideoi... it's like buying a product pamphlet, no useful content to speak of.
