No, vf2 is on the cam all the time, so far haven't drop out yet. vf3 is suppose to have a locking mechanism of sorts, resolution is lower, but price is lower too, though not much locally from the other thread.

VF2 is much tighter on the EP3 then the EP2, there was some redesign to make the fit tighter perhaps.

My VF2 sits snuggly on E-P3. It actually requires a little force to put in/take out of cam.
Personally I will prefer it with no locking mechanism. Under impact, if it cannot move and thus absorbs some force, something will break.

just curious how come the vf-2 and vf-3 front view cannot see through, but vf-1 front view can see through. Also, how come on one talk about vf-1, is it that bad?

Vf-1 is optical view finder. Vf-2 & 3 are electronic view finders.

VF 2 & 3 are electronic viewfinders, VF 1 is optical and only for the 17mm pancake.
