Just when you thought it is safe to enter water again, something just pop out and throw everything back to limbo again.

Hotshoe is the price determination factor of the camera,
Cheap Point and Shoot, no hotshoe, only build-in flash
Prosumer, some have some don't and with build-in flash
DSLR, all have hotshoe and build-in flash
Expensive DSLR, only hotshoe and no build-in flash.

It doesn't have it but that's okay. I'll do without.

FWIW, I still only use my first regulator from 1989. The only things I have really "upgraded" is a dive computer (because it was a gift) and a mask (because the fit needs to be perfect). In a way, I also upgraded from my first BCD but I might not have done that yet if I didn't become a DM/OWSI.

....and back to photgraphy before I get expelled from the forum.... I'm clear on the hotshoe. Thanks.
