The sharpest lens in the world you cannot just buy off the shelf.

Not so easy!

Obviously it is a custom-build by the most elite professional lens designer in the world.

So expensive that if you sell all your Rolex and iPhone may not be enough to even touch it, don't say buy it.

If you too scared to ask me about it, it's understandable. Up to you.

I want super sharp professional level ones, price is not a problem. I just need your opinions to get another lens instead of using the Kit lens.

TS, my suggestion ... since cost is not a problem.

1) Get a 100mm macro lens. Assuming mostly watch photos.

Actually a tilt shift lens would be much more useful, and the 85mm PC micro Nikkor made by Nikon is much more versatile than say the EF 90mm TSE, and is said the be even sharper than the 105mm macro VR lens. If you don't want to get a Nikon camera, can get adapter to use on Canon DSLR.

Or get a Hasselblad H3D and the tilt shift adapter and a standard 80mm lens. But that might not have enough movements as a friend found out when he tried to shoot watch.

Either way, once or if you get into it seriously, you will discover how difficult life can be without lens movements. Not impossible, but really difficult.

2) Approach a studio or commercial photographer and ask if they/he/she could teach you how to photograph a watch or other reflective products. Offer, humbly, to pay for them to impart the knowledge and tutoring.

3) Get studio lights and whatever else you need to make controlling light easier. Or learn strobist techniques if you want to use hotshoe type flash.

4) Join any of the organizations offering photoshop courses. It might come in very, very handy.

The last one, I don't know where to advise you to buy, but if you want to shoot watches well, you'll need TONS of patience, hard work and perseverance.

All the best.

How much is it? I don't believe I can't buy it after selling my maserati grand turismo

Are you talking about depth of field> If so the wider the lens the sharper is gets. So a 24mm lens will be sharper than say a 50mm lens of the same quality. However of you're talking about sharp pictures with OOF background, then go the other way. A 100mm tele shot at wide open will make the subject pop from the background. Maybe you should elaborate about this sharpness a bit.

What's wrong? I was just asking about You guys opinions. Anyway, thank you For your tilt shift recommendations. Will get one by this weekend. Phew...finally got my answer after so many posts trying to clarify things.
