Really depends on what you use your Tokina 11-16 for.
personally i'm using a Tiffens 2 stop Neutral Grad filter. it's for sunset/sunrise and horizon shots.
u'd want a UV/protector filter on usually during storage or carrying for protection, but i always take off my filter when shooting landscape with my lens, to reduce ghosting/flares, vignetting.
There are also coloured filters, GND filter, star burst filter (for night sure imo). Depends on your need really.
