bro i'm not surprised if sony/ cz has differing stads/ QC for this lens. my copy had alignment problems that took weeks for sony to uncover and adjust, at my insistence. but no vignetting probs at 16mm with the pro1 though.. what i've done with other thicker filters is to remove them if i'm sure i'm going to take many wide shots. not ideal i know but thats the next best thing.

has anyone used Carl Zeiss made filters ? saw it in the A700 booklet... :)

Eh bro, look at page 1. I'm using them.

Bro Rashkae, for the Sony one, can still cap the lens cap in front?

Any other recommendation for 62mm filters for the 16-80cz?
And what the prices are like?
[size=1If not convenient to post here, would appreciate it if anyone can PM me[/size] :D

The way the VF-62MPAM is designed, the internal section is angled away; this prevents vignetting. This makes it a pain to use the lens cap though.

Hi everybody, I've just discovered this forum because I was looking for some informations about the VF-62MPAM filter.

Does it really prevent the use of the lens cap? I've read other posts saying it even prevents the use of the hood or the lens cap while other say there's no problem!

Is that the SONY filter?

It doesn't prevent it, but makes it a bit harder as it's so thin. No effect on lens hood.

Ok, sounds great, ;)

thanks a lot for the information.

Yupe, I use an ultra thin B+W filter on my KM 17-35mm... very hard to fit the lens cap back on... quite irritating... but no choice otherwise run the risk of vignetting in certain situations...
