What do you use to edit videos ?

I'm completely new to Video editing. What program do you recommend ?
The only video editor I have now is the Microsoft Windows one... which is obviously not okay!
I have been using Photoshop for Photos for a long time now, what is an equivalent ? And how much should I pay for it ? I got my Photoshop CS4 really really really really cheap. Dont know where to buy them at such prices now. ;p

Premiere has a steep learning curve. It's a good idea to start with the software that comes with your camcorder (assuming you got one).

not really. beginners start off with the razor tool.

i used sony vegas for the first time today. it's my first time doing any video editing. it's quite easy to use.

Magix Movie Edit...go the 14th edition. Now they came out with 16th edition plus.
