i dun think d thread starter got say tt old man shove d cam in his face.

so any1 who has an array of expensive kit gotta yank out d logo?

if a brat 1 2 show off, i'll say "wah u got gd taste, i m from d marketing department of tt company!"... :bsmilie:

hmm so many posts...

duno what the issue is anyway, kinda lost. first post seems that the threadstarter is jealous and then clarified is a safty issue. kinda werid.

cause this is sg, and lots of ppl do carry such stuff around in worst places. and i think is fairly common for ppl to carry equipment around, even a d2h to geylang (yes i saw 1 kiddie with tripid going to take pics there... god knows why). at events like 2 week ago's scc 7s, wah the array of cam and lens there scary, then how?

i think let's throw the notation of safety out of the window. dun really make scense.

regarding your third paragraph, i do admit it to a limited extent.

The concept of exercising personal responsibility is a valid one. But you are applying your "standards" to another. To me, and others, what you described is hardly an example of personal irresponsibility.

But there is another aspect.

Sometimes, a person may not know that he is in danger, which you felt strongly he was in. You felt it so strongly that you brought it up in this forum. And I think if you know that that person is in danger, then your have failed to exercise your social and civil responsibilty to warn the person of his danger.

If Singapore is not one of the safest countries to carry an expensive dslr around, I don't know which country is.

honestly, i think he is a fool. taking into account his age.

honestly, i think you are one too. why bother? :dunno:

honestly, d mods should lock tis thread asap. getting abit unfrdly here.

He can buy and wear anything he likes. Why do you even bother posting this?

I wonder whats wrong to carry ex gears and then read books at a bookstore? Maybe his neck is strong enough to hold a heavy gear around his neck, given his age and still tahan the weight is still not bad right?
He's rich enough to do whatever he likes....mmmm red eyes hah?l... why didn't you hang everything you have over your neck and stand next to him? You did say you have lots of gears with you at that time right?

Dont take it too hard okie....:bsmilie:

i will leave this thread open till thursday's morning, after which it will be closed.

For countries I have been, Nepal and Bali are pretty safe too, of course Japan is even safer, nobody will even bother with what camera u use.

that is so correct. D2x with 17-35 make way for D70 with 50mm lens to shoot :bsmilie: so nice and polite :D

I try to hide the canon sign on my camera bag, and the canon strap.

How come this suddenly turned into a thread about safety and security?

+1...before Thursday morning...where all will be calm again..:bsmilie:

heheh I also +1 before thursday mornnig....

This thread is getting totally more crap than I thought.

First we are talking about PRIDE of Camera/Bag which was the original title of this thread......now we are talking about safety issues in Singapore.

So far in my entire life as a photographer since 15 years old, if you are intelligent enough you will know the safety issue as a photographer. Showing off your equipment will definately spark of interest from prying eyes from the robbers.

Anyway CRAP CRAP CRAP.......

I agree with TMC, someone is changing topic and covering his behind.

Thread going nowhere.....please closed it!!!!

Well then.
If that's the case, he's a bigger man than the thread starter could ever hope to be.
