What digital cameras to get for uwp - Specific Models

due to my dumb dumb canon A70, w/o strobe, i sometimes need to set to F2.8 in order to get a clearer shot. For f5.6, it's popular with C5050/60 users?...

I'm still at learning stage... i'm too embarased to show my sub-standard pics

for me.. i uses f2.8, f5.6 for most WA shots and ambient lighting shots..

For most macro.. i try to set to the highest number possible.. which for most oly users.. its F8.. (if theres F11 or higher.. i will use that!)

well.. it will be gd to understand the use of aperture and shutter speeds for different results.. theres no fixed rules... it depends on what kind of results u wish to take..

some of my 2 cents... HEE.

In fact this is 2 of the most popular f stop settings for aperture.

4 dives? How many shots per dive? if it's 60 shots per dive, multiply by 4 that's pretty good endurance IMHO.

Eh.. i can't remember exactly but I believe I took more than 100 shots totally..

I'd normally shoot 138 shots perdive over in lembeh in drive mode.
The strobes will be the ones running out of juice first rather than the batteries.. but that is me.

Normally i'd only use F2.8 if i want to achieve a good strobe/ambient balanced shot. (which is rare nowadays as the trend is to go the underexposed background shots)

If you want a more underexposed "blue" background type of "punchy" underwater WA photos go with F4.0 to F5.0

my slr days were F8.0 to F11 depending on conditions and 1/60... normally..

Hope that would clear some confusion as what aperture to use.

just remember the higher the aperture, the more power your strobes need to light up your subject/foreground and comparitively the darker it will be compared to a smaller aperture.

It all depends on what you wanna achieve.
Our dear lovells19 has also recently shared with me that he is hooked on WA as it is alot more challenging.

Try it.....

Are you refering to the F stop numbers for aperture or the size of the aperture? I assume u are refering to the former?

he mean the number behind the F.
bigger number, smaller hole, less light.

wide angle is the killer...
oh but fun! :D hehe

U got use wide angle lens boh...or u juz shoot?

if you cannot get it right the first time, it is not the camera for u. sell , sell, sell to me lah.....or camera + top up cash to get my dslr setup

foxwagon: is your friend using the Fuji housing for F810? any fogging issues? Is there a 67mm lens thread for attachment of macro and WA lens on the Fuji housing?

Eric

if you dun mind, i know this person as well.. yes she is using the fuji housing, no 67mm thread. fogging, i dunno.

she says its perfect, no fogging :)

tks...too bad no thread for attaching lens

now i wonder how much can a C-5050 and PT-015 get?

ok, the F810 is discontinued by Fuji.....

that makes 2 very competent cameras (C-5050) on the way out from our shelves. So grab them before it is too late. ;)

i must say the F810 is one sweet camera. happy to see the saturated colors on my S2 Pro being reproduced on a camera 1/5 the price. F810 is no longer avail at South Asia Computer in Funan. Avail in HK still though. Who wants?

for those who can wait, Fuji has a new E900 coming soon. 9 mp, RAW, full manual control, 5th generation CCD, excellent low noise ISO800 , 4X optical zoom, 680*480 30 fps video, and 2 NiMh batteries. Read that there is true TTL too, though unconfirmed as i don't know if it means u can connect via bulkhead to conventional film strobes to achieve TTL (like the S2 Pro), or Fuji is adopting Nikon's iTTL and u need digital strobes.

Kng, u listening?

Eric
