Yep, you answered it. Getz's FC is very low, comfy ride, cute car, lots of accessories and there's power when you need it.

Get Hyundai Getz 1.4cc at $42K++ or 1.6cc at $44K++ Good price

FC is ok lor compare to Jazz. In fact Jazz got the Best FC at $57++

;) :D IMHO....dont buy a 60k car..no point..
either buy a 50k car ( new/2nd hand ) OR LESS like ortega said..
use the rest for investing..NOT LENS..bwahahha
or if your still young and stuff..use the whole 60k for investing...1 to 2 more years you get a 120 thousand dollars car...if you die die want to get a car..i personally think any SUV is good and practical and hip...

SUV is good because of the height so that can see far and rugged but sitting position not so comfort compare to normal saloon car. Just like sitting a office chair.

Fuel consumption is high cos of the weight and 2/4 wheel drive.
:thumbsd:

In fact all SUV FC is high. eg Rav4, KIA Sportage or Hyundai Tucson :thumbsd:

And last, if buy SUV vehicle better drive in SG don't drive to JB. They target SUV and MPV car in first priority.

Good Choice for $50k and below, make in japan too.

Currently got promotion seem like the new model is coming out. I think is MIVEC engine. The current one is CVT engine

I second this...spend the remainder on Modding the car.

The Getz sounds like a good buy. You have the mobility, convenience, and reach as a photographer. Particularly if you use the balance of the cash to get a 600mm f4. :D I've yet to see a bird shooter packing a 500mm/600mm lens, Wimberley head, CF tripod, etc., taking a bus to shoot birds. ;p

Take note of cost of spare parts in the case of breakdown.

Last I check, Jap car's spares are widely available and cheaper than the Korean counterparts.

Driving one using Michelin Pilot Preceda II tyres (F1-Spec)  not the crappy bridgestone potenzas :bsmilie:

OT abit. Eh? There's a mkII liao? I changed from stock Contisportcontacts to Pilot Precedas not too long ago. Much better grip, esp in the wet. Anyway, I wouldn't say Bridgestone Potenzas are crappy. The stock Potenza RE050s on the Legacy wagon are really grippy but very noisy, esp at high speeds (like >160km/h, oops! ;p ).

Anyway, I think the Honda Jazz is probably a good buy. From what I've seen of it on fifth gear, it's a lot roomier inside than it looks from the outside. :)

Honda Jazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz is one of the best cost savings cars......

I think you have to think in terms of fuel as that will be one of the most important factor, so the Jazz has very low fuel consumption. As this will add up quite a bit every month. Go do some calculation and you will see the big diff.

Second will be Road Tax (it's cheap for a 1600 and below litre car), Insurance, Yearly Maintainence (tyres, some wear and tear parts) and so on.

Third, parking space wise. Honda Jazz is pretty easy to park as well as you can see most parking lots is so small that you can hardly breath.

Forth, it's a small car. So it's easy to wash. Well you need a chair to clean the roof top if you are short.

Fifth, it's after all a HONDA. To sell back (of course you have to maintain the condition of the car) to fetch a higher price.

Sixth, although it's a small family car......but spacious.

As mentioned by one of the CS members that the only thing I do not like are the front seats. It's like sitting in an office chair over looking your "eat snake" employees....:bsmilie:

Avoid JDM (parallel import) car. After 3 years warranty may face spare part problem.

They need to import the spare part and charge you more.

Unless go for popular JDM model like honda Fit or toyota Wish.

The price diff that big? I'm also keeping stock rims (not that I want to but because my dad doesn't want me to change 'em, he doesn't see the point).

OT .....

i see no point changing rims too.

In fact, i see no point spending more $$ on the car. As long as it stays trouble free and reasonably comfy, it's a good car. :)

Better to invest the $$ elsewhere. ;)
