What camera to get for filming?

Hi,

I would like everyone to recommend what I should get if its for filming short films, music videos, etc.
budget: below 4k, as low as possible

DSLR? or just a video camera?

You might want to consider the Sony HDV camcorders like HVR-V1P, HVR-A1P and HVR-HD1000P in your budget range. Hope this helps

two months ago i would have said a Z5 + some kind of lens adapter

but today i would suggest 7D + 3 lenses and some kind of audio recording device.

of course this is in response to your requirement to shoot films and music videos.

if you were doing serious stuff my suggestion would be a Z5

Please remember to allocate some budget to the grip and lightning. A nice tripod/dolly, and lighting are equally important.
