Dear all, what bag are u all using and with what gear?

I am using my old lowepro micro-trekker 200 for my 20D

with 17-40mm/f4L, 50mmf/1.4, 420ex flash...still sufficient for now....but thinking of getting another bag soon..

Other than lowepro, which brands are good?

Reporter 400 should meet your requirement if you are shooting for event. However to add another heavy lens like 70-200, I would suggest to go for backpack.

Hi all, (Dragos, sorry for using your thread to ask qns too)
Read this thread, at am glad to find this coz i am actually looking for a bag, can give suggestions? My critirias are:
1) 1x Body
2) 1x 17-40
3) 2x prime lens (a 50mm and maybe 100mm)
4) 1x long zoom lens (maybe 70-200 F4L)
5) 1x compact camera
6) 1x flash
7) space here and there for little accessories like battries...
8) Backpack
9) if possible abt 100?? (can i asking for something too unrealistic here? )

Mini Trekker

was going through the web-site, there is a classic version and all-weather version. How much does all this cost?
Also how big is the Photo Trekker ?

Any other brand other then the lowepro coz i noticed all lowepro bags are very ex...

Got a Lowepro top loader AW65.

Juz nice for my 300D + 17-40.

Of cos, any extra items like mount flash or a longer zoom, I've gotta get one of those lens bag and flash bag add-ons to strap on da side. Good for short trips.

Looking forward to a Crumpler. At least it doesn't scream "I've got a camera!!" when I'm carrying it for trips.

U already paid so much for your gear liao....dun buy those "inferior" bags just to save $$$...not worth it....

Bags are there to protect your gear..go for it..

:)

Try Cathay Photo. And try not to look at the price tags. Ask da price frm da sales ppl, its more accurate ;)

Yup...last time some guy walked past me carrying what seemed to be a waist pouch. Only after I saw him taking out a D70 from his pouch did I realise it was a modified camera pouch... :sweatsm:

I've got a LowePro PhotoRunner, becomes a waist-pouch if you fold down the carrying strap, and 'deploy' waist strap.

Packed: 300D+kit lens, spare battery+charger, Tamron 28-200mm, CompactDrive, cleaning kit, cam manual, power-cords

Quite compact n' useful when I went 10 days in Eygpt last year. :)

another strong guy,
the lenses are not attached to the cam inside the bag right?
still can't imagine how all this can fit into one bag... is the padding very thin?

Photorunner.... Quite interesting.

Maybe I'll check it out. Can't decide between this or a Crumpler... :(

other than crumpler, any other brands that have funky designs?

with laptop and no laptop makes a lot of diff. if u thinking of bringing a laptop along for ur shooting trips, think u need to get something like a lowepro computrekker. if not, a lowepro mini-trekker will do. :)
Lowepro Computrekker is pretty useful. The only thing is the weight need to be considered when travelling. I was stop at the check-in when they told me it's too heavy (>7Kg) to carry into cabin as hand luggage!
Worse thing is they told me to check-in the bag. No darn way, with all the lens and kacang inside...

So what you do in the end? Really check in the bag ah?

Yep, all those and yes, like what they say, beware of your shoulder. I did a 3 day shoot continuously with all the gears and everynight I went home, I was dead beaten and the next morning... the shoulder were really heavy and aching... need to stretch for at least 15 mins to get all those nerves and muscles working ;)

However, I must say that this bag is really a good bag.... very durable.
