What are the lenses you are mounting on your NEX?

Any comments regarding SLR magic?

Well, this this lens is only sharp in the centre.
Only for shots which focus on 1 object and has to be in the centre.
So not applicable for rule of a third.
But because of this 'flaw', it sometimes produce some nice effect pictures.
I think it is still a keeper due to its super low price!

what mount is the tokina. i think you wont have problem selling it off bah :bsmilie:

anyway.. see what they going to release first .

Nikon mount. Haha no la, after much research, i'm confident the IQ of this lens against current lineup of uwa.
Moreover, yet to hv time to play it with a tilt transformer too!

But cfm a pancake is more ideal size, my lens + adapter is like a trumpet on nex.

Thanks for the sharing.

Was considering the addition of a Sigma 19mm. But the rumoured new pancake zoom sounds tantalizing. Hope it will not be too expensive thou. :P

Sel16+VCF adapter
Sigma 30mm

Now using
SEL1855
Minolta MD 50/1.7

Used to have
SEL16F28
SEL50F18
Tokina MD mount 70-210/4.5
CCTV 35/1.7

All cheapo lenses... thinking of getting the Sigma 30mm...

If the new wide zoom by Sony is true, the SEL16F28 is going to be obsolete...

Do let me know if u intend to sell yr Zeiss 90-2.8 or Leica 135-4.0... Haha... Btw, how do u find the Konica Hexanon 90-2.8? Tks.

Think the upcoming 16-50mm G pancake zoom sounds good as a replacement for SEL1855. But a G will not come cheap ba

Excellent collection!

Thanks... slowly built it up over the mths :)

alright, will let you know, though both are keepers..

as for the Hexanon, it's actually an AR mount SLR 40mm F1.8, a 'pancake' portrait lens, made not so pancake by the adapter. It's pretty sharp for an SLR lense, though not in the same league as the Contax Gs.

Well, depending on your budget, the cheapest I can think of are the old SLR lenses, but the tradeoff is that they are often big, because of the adapter. A quick check on the internet will get you the following:

Canon FD 35mm F2

Olympus OM 35mm F2

Minolta MD 35mm F1.8

Pentax Takumar 35mm F2

For a smaller package on the NEX, and a more vintage look, you can go for the 1960s-era Olympus Pen F 38mm F1.8, or 40mm F1.4. They are generally around $300. If you really like Pen Fs, their fastest is the 42mm F1.2, but typically go for more than $600 on eBay. But just bear in mind that their rendering is very classic, and being old lenses, they often have little or not coating, so contrast may be affected.

I think you can check out old Soviet LTMs too, but their quality vary greatly, and the minimum focus distance is more than 0.7m, unlike the lenses above.

You can go Ebay to check how much people are selling the above.

oh, before I forget, the cheapest 35mm lenses you will be able to find are the Fujian 35mm F1.7 CCTV lenses. They are like around $50 to $60 on eBay. but no cool factor la, and lense quality not guaranteed. Good lense for those who want to try out manual lenses.
