Hi limwhow,I cannot accept you nice comment hor, But I did use a little systematic analysis to decide, as you can see the cover of the sharpener,First I thought it was ball pen holding tube, then I say it's a container cover for contact lens, then relies it not for liquid So guess the right answer.

I see there is no corrosion so its a alloy.
8B is very well cast so have to be precision.
The only confusing part is the protrusion or a round hole because there is no shadow.
The shooting angle is not very vertical so the hole is slightly elongated and the edge is very sharp around the outer circle.
I am also not very certain about the above description.
Still cannot tell what is that lei.
Brother like that analyze logical or not.
