Hi Guys,

I'm new here..... Jus thought of getting myself a good one....
Which would u recommend???
Nikon, Sony, Panasonic or Canon???
My friend recommended me Nikon, but I've been a supporter of Panasonic Lumix...

Saw that there'squite a few shooters in the West huh.....
Oh, btw, how can i find u guys when i come in again....
Any West Shooters link...

Please advise...

Keep a lookout for our discussions... normally we will post outings over there...

Now for my recommendation.. I am a Nikon User.
I choose a Nikon as my film SLR is a Nikon. Hence made more sense to use back Nikon. If budget is not a concern, then the latest 3 models of Nikon(D300/700/3) are good models to get. But if budget is a concern then, opt for D80/200. Note that D200 is no longer in production so any set that you got are the remaining ones left over. Y D80 and not D60/40x is simply the larger range of lens that you can use.

I have not use a Canon DSLR but the only reason I would get them will be for the L lens. Their PNS is good. I am using one now..

For Panasonic, I have used the PNS before. Quite good i must say...

For other brands, it solely depends on yourself. Sony is good but the lens are EX and limited range.

In the West group, we have users from Nikon/Canon/Pentax/Sony/Olympus. Everyone takes good photos... Hence is more of the user not the system he/she used.

Ultimately, you must be happy with what you have and be able to make use of it instead of buying it on the spur of the moment.

Lastly, hope to see you in our outings...

Definately NIKON :bsmilie::bsmilie: D3 D3 D3 D3

no worries on the cannons... the biggest one has yet to be revealed.. :)

at the end of the day, get what you can afford but if you are planning long term. then look at the range of lens that it can support. Sometimes cheap does not mean that it is good. You do not want to upgrade a new camera when you feel that your current one is too limited in function. Check and ask around. I also took a few weeks before deciding which system and model to get.

It ready hit #1007 reply. Can start a new thread le.:)
