then blend properly to give it a soft effect......

hand painting is a technique tt during my dad's time prob was very popular...they would get oil pastels and manually colour their bnw prints...basically wat i did was to adopt the technique and reproduce the technique digitally.....

with a few filters and alot of paintbrushing on black and white photos....it can be done....haha...
