I make sure I am the first one to scramble to the left of the JoP before anyone else does. OK, a bit exagerrating, but usually I don't get their friends/etc jostling for The Viewpoint.

I was at ROM last Saturday. In the rooms, they designated one corner i.e right of JP, to be the photographer corner. One of my friends stationed himself at the left of the JP, and got a earful from her. This lady JP was quite a nasty one. She actually only allow one group photo with her at the end of the ceremony. If that photo turned out to be bad, that's IT, MAN!!

Don't know why they put up such stupid things? Don't they realised that some couples actually spend quite abit for their ROM day? And they set up so many STUPID rules and regulations!

I was too gentleman I held the door open for my ex-colleagues family and relatives, when I turned my head around, 1 video camera and 1 camera was at the side of the JOP already, somemore with tripod. I really got fed up but just be nice and carried on shooting with what I can, worst thing... I want to shoot the kiss scene, another camera emerged directly at the angle I wanted, ended up.. I missed the shot. I hope they didn't take my face inside the movie and shots.

Sigh.

fruitybix: Like you I didn't want my head in the movies taken but it's so hard, I wanted to make a good shot because it's once a lifetime thingie then thanks to the ease and photoshooting of digicams everybody wants to shoot, sigh.

Pegasus: Think they setup the barrier so that we don't move around the JOP too much or for the SARS thing I guess. I find it stupid also and very restrictive.. the angle just isn't right. Sigh hope my next shoot would be a better one.

Sorry for OT here, just wanna warn the starter not to have too many shooters around. Esp the speedlights will cross fire, end up both camera man get over exposed shots.

I hope my next shoot @ July 12th would be better.

wow. lucky for me, my ROM will be before the wedding at an open lawn area.. hopefully won't face that kinda problem.

I make sure I go in first, so that I can take pics of them going inside, and quickly go to my location and camp there. :) The things like holding doors, etc are best left to friends/relatives of the wedding couple.

This is why press photographers from Straits Times and SPH all have a 14mm in their bag all the time, so that they can go as near as they want and makan the best angle...basically those with 28mm and above will be blocked

Next time I shall do the same first, it was just my instinct to hold the doors open. Sigh... too good end up doing bad things. Arrggh!!

Congrats! Have you engage your JP yet? So far, the nicest JP whom I encounter is Mr David Loh. He's very open to all suggestions and always put on a smiling face.
:)

Yeah. Already got him as my JOP

ESPN, i feel you man, i know what you mean. :)

Seriously, for the ROM at Fort Canning, the small little corner in that small little room can take ONLY 1 photographer, 1 videographer. Even then, it is tight. So to ths thread starter, do keep this in mind. Because the whole event takes place in 5 minutes, 2-3 photographers will be serious chaos, as everyone get kia-su...:)
