Hi guys, with this meeting fast approaching, I thought I would just remind everyone on the following.
Subject of Meeting: The Business of Wedding Photography
This meeting is about the business of wedding photography. We will not have time or inclination to cover technical details on how to cover a wedding, what lens to use, etc, etc. This is not what the meeting is for. This meeting is targeted at the semi-pro or professionals who is already charging money for weddings on a constant basis. And it is a sharing session, so no one will be allowed to sit there quietly absorbing but not contributing to the knowledge pool.
Before the meeting, perhaps we could consider the following issues and prepare some solutions so we can all talk about them. These are some of the things I hope you would be willing to share.
1. Your name, your business name, how many weddings you shoot and if you are open enough, what is your average billing [this enables us to place a relevance to the market you are serving]
2. What are the biggest challenges facing your company? What is your target?
3. What could the possible solutions be? Also be prepared to share solutions to other photogs problems.
4. What ideas do you have for photographers as a group to co-operate with each other? What are possible avenues we can help one another with?
So as you can see, it has nothing to do with the technical side of shooting weddings. Also, due to the limited space of the venue, I need to cap the number of participants at 28. Finally, I must apologize in advance as I did not anticipate such a big turnout and only have the budget to cater food for 15 people so if you are coming late and there is no more food and drinks, please be prepared to pay for your own food and drinks from the cafe. Apologies in advance. See you all on Wednesday.
