In the process of rounding out my kit of lenses I recently acquired a 35/2 factory ai'd lens. Sadly it came in with a haze problem so I will salvage the ai conversion ring and get me a cleaner copy soon...I'm looking now.
It is not really evident in this group of snaps but at times you get inexplicable randomly located blur in certain situations. I chalk it up to the coffee milky like stuff going on with a middle element or two. Really a shame because the lens is solid otherwise. 35mm is a critical focal length for me because of my interest in automobiles plus I only have about a dozen lenses I like to use so I have to have prime condition glass. I seriously need to clean the sensor on my camera too.
The Df certainly shines with the old glass. I would suspect the old Nikkors to be good out to 20mp so maybe there is something to the Df2 rumor about D5 sensor.
Jury is still out it will be interesting to see the verdict. Could become another D400.
Maybe. 35/2 runs about 150 USA$ or less so more practical to just buy another copy. The 35/2 is another one of those classic Nikkors that can be had for peanuts...every Nikon owner should have one.
