We love our manual focus Nikkor lenses!

another one from 50 1.4 AI'D on d300, this one stopped down to 2.8

Colours have been edited using curves though

The following two are from 50mm AIS 1.4 on a Nikon 1 J1 via an AU$25.00 adapter eBay. Manual mode only and no meter guide. But results are incredible. Getting a 135mm for my full frame would be insane, the 50mm on the J1 gives me telephoto reach with I think great results. I usually don't post photos, so enjoy :)

Hi cichlid, yes I use a tc16a on it. I'm grateful for both purchases... Optically good with the
Tc...a poor man's 640mm f5.6.

I am very interested in TC16a.Can it makes your 400mm Nikkor auto focus? Have you tried it on your other AI,AIS Nikkors for auto focus? And what model of camera you use? Sorry about that too many questions,as I want to find a TC16a to make my 50mm f1.2 AI auto focus.Thanks. ;p

It's a sin to add a TC to the 50f1.2. The TC16a has additional glasses and can only open up to f2.8. I suggest if you need AF, go buy an AF lens.

mm.. actually. the lens will have the same physical aperture, but the focal length is increased by 1.6X so get the performance of a 80mm f/2

the TC 16a should work, but you need to rechip the TC or the camera will not recognise it and won't focus it. you do not, however, get the full range of focus and you still need to use the MF ring to bring it close to being in focus then you use the AF to lock on. as mentioned, the lens will act like an 80mm f/2.0, but may possibly be soft and have some chromatic abberation. i used this TC with the 55 1.2 pre ai with some decent results. it really shines with the 180 2.8 ED though.

and well.. since i replied might as well share one =)

Nikkor 24 2.8 AIS with K1 extension ring @ 2.8

Ben Ang sure has loads of experience with tc16a and nikkor manual lenses. Yes, it does af with my 400mm f3.5. If you can find one, I can intro sm1 who can do the conversion to you. Anyway, f1.2 is so holy in low light..u will lose some light with tc16a.

Thanks for all brothers replies. It is so funny if can make a manual lens auto focus. It is great if still can take a decent photo.I may find one to try. Thanks again. :bsmilie:

The Jellyfishes are inside the tank in Hong Kong Ocean Park. They are so beautiful, but dim lighting and keep on moving. It is very hard to take good photo without fast lens.Focusing really not easy.I took a lot then chose the good. :bsmilie:

Some more Jellyfish Dance.

hi guys i jus discovered something interesting abt the 50mm 1.8 AF-D which i couple to my FM2N. apparently at the first stop of the aperture ring, where it jumps from 1.8 - 2.8, something which ppl have voiced out at it nt being able to stop down to f2 or 2.4, you can actually do so by sliding it halfway. the fm2n also meters accordingly, giving you more accurate exposure between stops as well. duno if its been mentioned before but jus saying:bsmilie:

yup! it actaully does the same thing with the digital bodies. it only records full stop increments, but the camera will change the metering for 1/2 and 1/3 stops.. you can actually remove the aperture ring and add half-stop clicks to the lens

Ha ha I though u diving and took the photos inside the sea :(

But really detailed.

they are huge, they will drive you crazy if you with them inside the sea.
thanks for your appreciation. :)
