We love our manual focus Nikkor lenses!

Thank bro, will check it out....

Thank bro, will check it out....

I've used the 105 1.8 and 105 2.5, both are excellent lenses, the 105 1.8 was like a 105 2.5 with an extra stop of light, but was abit bulky. i cant really comment on their usability though, cos i never used either very seriously.

I also have the 135 f2 AIS which is a fantastic lens in all aspects when you nail the focus. but the dof is really shallow so thats a challenge sometimes. the 85mm f/2 is not as good as the earlier pre AI 85 1.8 (sharper, better contrast wide open) i suggest you go for the latter.

Anw, here's my contribution for the day!

Nikkor N.C. 24 2.8

I've a mint condition 105mm 2.5 with original hood if you re interested. AI'd so will work with d7000 and up with aperture priority. wont mount on D5000 and below though.

Nice shots Ben, esp like the 135mm f/2 separation. A bit divided on the bokeh, though. How much did you pay to get this gem?

Correction - D5100 and below - all Nikkors including those very old ones will mount with no problem. No meter, though.

thanks! well, it was a really busy bg, and this is cropped to about dx-perspective. if not, at that distance it usually throws the bg completely out which is a real treat. the foreground oof renditon is rather harsh though, but thats cos they optimized the lens to blur the bg. paid about 800 a couple years back i believe.. i always think of letting it go to upgrade to the DC, but then i use it and just have to keep it. haha.

here's another, also f2

oh.. my bad. will mount on d3x00 and d5x00 but not on dx0 bodies(cos of the min aperture tab).

Bro, your 135 looks "delicious" too....

I used one from focusingscreen.com (a company in Taiwan).

The screen I used is one cut from an authentic Nikon focusing screen for film slr. works perfectly.

errr Bro.... was looking at the webpage... which to choose for D700??

Heh die lah, I think I'm hooked

The Ai 43-86mm f/3.5 is a much maligned lens. Many have not used it but on reputation must represent the rock bottom of any Nikkors.

Got mine closed to 20 years ago, have not used it much. This one is done with a D60 at IMM. What do you think?

One piece (Ai not AiS) showed up at BnS for $180... no relation with seller.

Thanks bro, later meeting a bro to check out the 135... Hope can seal the deal

update... Got a 135f2.8 from a bro here.... Nice lens to play with.... BUT... After finish shooting and wants to take it out, it somehow got stuck... Scare the hell out of me.... Will bring to the shop to have the connection checked.... See if can modify a bit to fit beter... Won't want to damage the body.... :hung:

Updated....

Apparently there was a missing screw which also act as a stopper.... without it will cause the lens to over-turn.... thus stuck..... got it fix up.... was told if don't fix, will have a risk of damaging the body... phew....

The thing that I love from oldie Nikkor lens is very minimal diffraction on aperture setting > f/11.
I still could shot this shoot @ f/22 with no sharpness sacrificing as we found on modern lenses !
