Go ahead and try them! I would like to do this again in the future with a macro lens instead of the kit lens.

Used a spoon and poured water in with my left hand from a height.

Hold the focus lock and press shutter with my right hand :bsmilie:

Seems ok on my screen... Could be due to me blacking out some unwanted stuff in PS... :dunno:

Maybe my monitor not well calibrated?

Well, just use a small aperture (I used f/19 but anything around that range is fine) and a fast enough shutter speed.

Flash is important as well... On board flash is fine but it'll be better if you have an external flash.

After that, you need to maintain focus lock on the right place and then shoot a lot (probably get only 30 good ones from 400-500 shots)

NICE WORK hobbes! dope! :D

Hi,

Care to enlighten me why is a small aperture needed? To cut off light from the flash to the background? To create the star-like "reflections" from the water? or other reasons?

Thanx in advance! :)

Yup, its to maximise the DOF... You wont know if water is going to splash in front or behind ;p

At the same time it does give a nice star burst effect ;)

Hehe, great shots~ That's why i also feel, the D80 kit lens is not as bad as many mentioned. It's all about the skills~
