I just bought a 2nd hand eos30 from someone and he said he bought it from camera workshop brand new (1 yr warrenty). so now i only have the reciept from camera workshop dun have the warrenty card.
does that mean if anything wrong with the cam i cannot go directly to canon sg? must go to camera workshop izit?

He probably bought a grey EOS 30 from TCW. So yes if its still within the period of warranty on the receipt, I would believe that TCW will honour it. You can bring it to Canon directly if you wish to but you'll have to pay loh.

huh wat does grey eos30 mean? how much would one normally cost if like that...u mean i got ripped off?

The warranty is covered by TCW and not Canon. You can still send your camera in to Canon but for a fee. Grey equipment are usually cheaper but I'm not sure about the price of a grey EOS 30. You might want to contact the seller again just to be sure.

grey equipment usually refers to equipment that is not cover by its local warrently. The equipment may be brought in from other distributors/countires so the local distributor will not honour it as they got no $$$ from your 'grey' stuff.

had serviced my lens from camera workshop before. They did a good job. They even provide 1 month warranty after servicing. very professional.

The last time i saw it, TCW is selling the eos30 for something like $835.
