Looking for a freelance/ part time product photographer for an e-commerce retail start up.

Product Category - fashion accessories / home decor
Payment on project basis - SGD 70-100 per project.
Each project will consist of shooting 20-25 products and will require around 5-7 hours of time incl. light touch up.

Requirements:
- Should have your own equipments - camera (mandatory) & lighting (advantageous).
- Able to take directions
- Friendly

Projects maybe taken be on a recurring basis - once per month.

Am I seeing things?? Less than a hundred bucks job for 25 items product shoot? And based on your requirements, the photographer will need to shoot at location! OMFG!! :bigeyes::bigeyes::bigeyes:

making extra pocket money from photography is already history.


Many had tried, only a few made it.

For passion photographer , it is norm in biz world. Ppl will jump in area where ppl think easy $$ and less entry barrier.
It is just a matter of time , the market will adjust by itself and many leave as they think it is not as easy as what they think .
At the end, only passion photographer or those with skill and unique style will remain .
Don't be discourage . Just keep improving

Might as well organize this as a pay to shoot event....... because there is no earning on this at all no matter what level you are. 25 items if shot on site with unsure client - this way no that way also this way roughly means if each item needs 10min to shoot remember client will want light to change or 25 items will need at least 4 hours more if each item need different lighting, different angles. Soon say you wind up shooting 6 hours then retouch 12 hours (assuming you know how and what to do) , the cheaper the item the more defects it has - clients have inability to accept their item got defects so it was your fault it like that you fix it, beside there is always some tidy up to do in product work - do it then you know. okay now we are talking 18 hours not 7. If TS is so sure about timing ect, means they have tried do DIY before and it was painful in all aspects now they just want the end result throw a little money for some one to do it. So there is no earning in these gig unless you just wack it, burn it take money and run. if you are fussy about handover quality this is not a job for you. If you die die want to do - go do personal projects more fulfilling and also may be cheaper for you,

$100 per project for 7 hours... Must own expensive camera and lenses and lighting equipment too... and also own computer and software license to do PP. Have to shoot onsite, meaning have to take taxi and lug heavy camera and lighting equipment to and from location. Taxi fare will most probably cost $40-50. So $60 real revenue, works out to less than $10 an hour. If 2 person working, will be $5 an hour. And this does not cover meals or drinks...

20 items, just assume 3 pictures each, will be 80 pictures. $1.25 per picture paid to photographer. Photographer also need to PP the pictures before delivery.

Still need to show portfolio...

Do note that by today's rate, when you pay someone junior to do the most basic PP, it already cost more than $1.50 per picture.

I think work in Macdonalds make more. Plus, no need to spend big bucks on equipment.

PS... even the cheapest taobao sellers in China pay a lot more for their photos to get done....
