Hi Bro Soulfly, really enjoyed looking through your HDR stuff, and now am curious enough to try it out myself. Understand that you have to capture 3 images with different exposure and process them using software but when you're shooting and changing the exposures, won't your camera move (shake) a little? Won't that mean that your pics might be slightly off? So does that mean you can't shoot handheld? Thanks for the help!

I believe a tripod is essential in this case.

Hi Shellshox,

Firstly apologize for the late reply as was away and didnt drop by to S&C section for awhile..:)

Most of the shot were taken with using tripod which I reckon its essential when ur shutter speed is equal or lesser than ur focal length.

Bracketing shot of +/- 1 or 2 exposure based from the optimal exposure which can be set in the camera function where it will continuosly capture 3 shots once you press the shutter.

Handheld can be done if ur shutter speed is x2 more than ur focal length to prevent shake.

Am using Photomatix Pro Standalone and CS4 Plugin for tonemapping.

Hope above information helps!

Cheers,
Thomas

Hi jwpoon,

Thank you for visiting my work and glad you like it...;)

For the Parkview Hotel, am using EFS17-55mm lens.

As for the * faith *, were taken at Upper Seletar Reservoir.

Cheers,
Thomas

Really been awhile having my hands on HDR and almost how to use it...:bsmilie:

Here, from the older archive and it was a great sunset that day, least for me.

Taken at Mcritchie Reservoir with bracketing shot +/-1 handheld.

Hi there, seems i've been missing out some steps on my camera while trying to do this and just can't figure it out. I've set the autobracketing settings but it doesn't take the shot continuously, I have to press 3 times before i get my 3 exposures, at which time, my hand would have shook the camera and misaligned my shots. Any help on this?

Try setting the shooting mode to continuous to see if it works. You will then need to just hold the button down and 3 shots will be taken.

Cheers Shellshox! Guess kohanson had replied on my behalf...:)

Thanks mate and yes, continuous is one mode you need to use to achieve bracketing shot and a tripod is essential...

Cheers guys..

DJ Tiesto feat Andain - Beautiful Things

I forgot that I might see,
So many beautful things.
I forgot that I might need,
To find out what life could bring.

This is what exactly on my mind when I took a short break and head down to this site with a cuppa and the scene is so beautiful. I ran back to my car and grab my camera bag + tripod and here it is, a brilliant afternoon with breezy wind going along. Look at the cloud, its amazing I would say...

Been awhile and after long break from HDR and here it is, 3 exposure and manual blended in CS4.

A pretty simple and straight forward composition but I just love how the mother nature here... a definate briliant view.
