Getting really solid Thomas!

Like the song choices too!

Hi Thomas, I'm quite new to DSLR (bought my 1st cam- 500D- in May) before that P&S only and trying to learn more and more. I've been (silently) following your thread since you started it and have to say I'm really amazed by the photos you're taking plus the editing work afterwards> I love your HDR's and unlike some other guys in the forum the ones on the first pages I like most. I would not call them overdone. This is art with a cam and not with a brush. E.G. Who can criticize Van Gogh's colors are overdone? Its the artist's expression/feeling of a moment and only he decides the composition, color, brightness, bokeh, etc. etc.. Keep up your great work and post them all, I want to learn from looking at your art pieces! Cheers, Frank

Thank you my friend and visiting...;)..

At times, seems hard to find the correct song for the image...:)

Hi Frank,

Thank you very much for the kind words and constant visit to this thread. Its inspiring to know that ppl like the work I am doing and makes me want to go out now to shot more...wishful thinking as need to work and weather lately is not at the best...

However, there is still many photographers out there is even better. I am still learning to make it even more perfect. Guess, it is always seem not enough when you get a hand on it....:)

Once again, appreciate you comment and visit. Keep shooting and have fun!

Do share you work and get it commented by fellow CS'ers to showcase your work and improvement. Do take the comment positively though it may sound harsh and not to your liking at times but in a way, it will definately push you to produce better images.

Cheers and good day!

BR,
Thomas

yeah i know how you feel.. but certain images trigger memories which fit the editting and photo style.

Fully agree with you!

Whenever out there, its not just shot and shot and shot...

On a 'fine' day, you can shot just few images and you totally 'wow' by what you had produce...and...on a 'bad' day, even you shot plenty of images, not one seems to go to your liking and most of it goes to the trash can....

Guess photography does affect ur emotional indirectly....hmmm.....

Cheers my friend and glad you understand how I felt...:)

Bob Marley - No Women No Cry (1979)

Have a hands on HDR Manual Blending with using layer and mask in CS4 with EV +/-2.

The outcome is much closer than what eyes seeing it and I reckon with using Photomatix in CS4, noise were generated and it happens during tone mapping....

Here we go, a HDR image with manual blending.

Thank you for viewing and appreciate your comment!

Very well composed and nicely shot!

It should be posted in the Land/Cityscape but do not want to open up another thread to portray my work...hope it works well here....

Cheers and thank you for viewing guys and gals...Good week ahead!

I love this one. composition, color and music. so relaxing!

Bro,

Your HDR is AWESOME... i'm learning how to do it with Photoshop CS2 but not very successful in it.. maybe it's due to those settings. I understand we can download photomatix from internet right? any advise on this .. and maybe you can advise me on some settings use in photoshop or photomatix.. Anyway, im preferred creating HDR using single raw file.. thanks.

Hi Eric,

Thank you for your kind words. Appreciate your visit and comment.

I have been using both CS2 and CS4 with using Photomatix Plugins and Standalone. Creating HDR images from multiple exposure and single Jpeg.

And for the outcome/final result; some I process it looks dramatic especially on architecture and those on the streets.

As for landscape, waterscape and seascape; I prefered to process it looks more close to what our eyes seeing it.

There is many ways to explore on the slider but need extra careful to not get carried away as it will draw many unwanted scene; black patches, haloing and over saturated...

The main setting that need to take note is the Strength, Light Smoothing, Luminosity, Micro-contrast (more dramatic) and the rest is pretty much straight forward where you need to tweak to ur liking....

No worries my friend, be patience and practise makes perfect!

BR,
Thomas
