...hi DM101, i'm using d90+35mmdx for most of the shots taken; except for #018(gxr+a50)

Fantastic pictures.... the 35mm DX sure is sharp !

lately, i have been using the nikor 70-300mm lens; #023 was taken with the 35mm, but the tele was used on #024

I was so motivated by your pictures that I bought BOTH the 35mm DX and 50mm 1.8G ....... real fantastic LENS they are

50mm - portrait
35mm- outdoor

However I missed the VR of zoomed lens though in very low light....

...they are pretty nice lenses, and longer focal length does give a smoother blurr background.
by the way, f1.8 lenses are able to handle low light situations. just make sure the iso auto-hi is set to at least 1600.
normally, fast lenses don't come with vr (or no need for that?) and that does bring down the cost somewhat!
i believe the focal ratio for fast lenses is about two and a half stops!
 

wow!!! nice pic using the 35mm!!! make my hand itchy now!!! ( to use 35mm and shoot)!
