wow! This is better than his first video (miami):bsmilie:

Nice. It was her smile that attracted me :)

haha the preview screen of the video

Ryan,

Watch Devin Graham's behind the scenes footage for glimpses into how he handles his glidecam.

Also, Cheesycam's reviews of stabilizers often feature footage of him operating the stabilizers towards the end.
Check out:

Nitsan's reviews too: http://youtu.be/c57OfYdXlZ0

Then, practice!!! No point watching without practice ;p

I'm just getting this figured out myself... Sore arm... :bsmilie:

Devin Graham videos are great I like his videos a lot... Always exciting stuff.. His assassin creed parkour run videos are great... he even started shooting 1440p and 4k now... Using steadycam can take a lot of skill to master...

Thanks kandinsky,

It seems to me that when using the Glidecam, we need to walk lightly ...

But I am very curious, when holding the glidecam, surely our arm cannot maintain the vertical position at constant coordinates, thus wouldn't the video shake up & down ?

btw, what's the difference between a stabilizer and a glidecam ? Looks same to me leh ..

Thanks

Why not? Do the shots in the videos above look like they 'shake up & down' to you? Looks pretty smooth to me. Of course, depending on what one is going for, software stabilization may be applied also. If no skill + no strength, of course cannot lah :bsmilie: Even those with skill & strength, can probably manage 3-5 minutes per shot with handheld stabilizers like these. Longer continuous shots, or heavier setups will definitely require a system with a vest. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sR3IXH750bY)

The relationship between 'stabilizer' and 'Glidecam' is same as the relationship between 'tripod' and 'Manfrotto'. Generic term vs brand name.

Of course not, hence my curiousity & questions on how they did it ... so smooth ... my initial thought is that it must be on tripod or silder so that the Y coordinates are fixed !

Ok I better get the glidecam and learn. The motorised slider that I bought is too cumbersome to use !

Ok now I know. Thanks
